We consulted with the servicing technician who advised he had not seen or come in contact with any Xbox One console. Our routine pest control service typically includes treatment to kitchen and bathroom areasFurthermore, we received no pictures or other supporting evidence giving any
indications that we were responsible. We also consulted with a repair specialist for clarification on the facts in the email we received from the claimant. After our investigation, we have no reason to believe we are responsible for these damages

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
At our request on 9/19/11 Chesterfield Pest Seervices conducted an inspection of our detached garage for possible termites (receipt attached). During this inspection the report indicated termites were found under the sides of the garage. The report also clearly indicated and the block was checked "No" to evidence of damage was present. On 10/14/11 Chesterfield Pest Services treated our garage for termites and we paid $630 (receipt attached). Again from the receipt there was no indication of any evidence of damage from the termites. I asked the employee at the time if there was any damage that would need repair and he clearly stated no since we had caught the termites early. On 8/21/12 Chesterfield Pest Services conducted an annual termite warranty renewal inspection and report for which we paid $139 and again the reciept (attached) indicated and the block again was checked "No" for evidence of damage. On 8/9/13 Chesterfield Pest Services conducted another annual termite warranty renewal inspection and report and we paid another $139 (receipt attached) which again did not indicate termite damage was present. On 6/25/14 while still under Chesterfield Pest Services warranty a wood destroying insect report was conducted by [redacted] owner of Chesterfield Pest Services and now three years later after three years of documented no evidence of damage from termites [redacted] decides to change the determination to there is evidence of damage only to take advantage of the situation. [redacted] was told before his inspection that this inspection was needed for the closing on the selling of the house the next day. Considering the documented facts on three years of no evidence of damage from termites from Chesterfield Pest Services and now that being reversed there is little doubt [redacted] was attempting to take advantage of the situation. On 9/07/14 during a discussion with [redacted] on the phone he admitted several times that his employees made a mistake but his response was he can't watch them all the time. [redacted] was also very arrogant stating he was inconvenienced by having to fix the termite damage that was never there and that he could have changed us a lot more for the repair. There is zero doubt in my mind that [redacted] and the Chesterfield Pest Services was taking advantage of state and county pest services issued licenses in holding us hostage to paying him for damage that had not been there for three years. This is a totally unethical business practice and it should not be accepted by anyone.
Based on the above undisputable evidence request the following actions be taken to corredct this situation:
1. Chesterfield Pest Services reimburse us the $163 that was charged for the false claim of termite damage on the wood destroying insect report conducted 6/25/14.
2. Chesterfield Pest Services reimburse us for the two years of annual termite warranty renewal inspection at $139 per year for a total of $278.
3. Chesterfield Pest Services and [redacted] issue a signed letter apologizing for their wrong doing and mistake.
If the above corrective action is not accepted, as additional steps. I will file a formal complaiint with both state and local pest services licensing offices detailing [redacted] and Chesterfield Pest Services unethical business practices. I will also file for reimbursement in local small claims court for which I'm sure the evidence clearly shows additional changes were not warranted.
Regards,
[redacted]

I have reviewed the letter from [redacted] and would like to clarify some concerns in his letter.  The inspection I performed at his wife’s request is different than the annual termite warranty re-inspection that he is referring to that has been performed in the past.  A WDIR inspection must follow intensive inspection criteria, including probing wood, checking attics, and inspecting for evidence of, or damage from, all wood destroying insects.  A WDIR inspection for a real estate transaction (which the mortgage company requires) is very specific concerning damage.  It should also be noted that this real estate inspection was performed when the house and garage were vacant and there were no stored items or furniture to create inaccessible areas.
I showed his wife and his real estate agent the damage to the sill plate in the garage.  I recommended to his wife that it would be a simple repair and explained how it could be fixed.  At that time, his agent told his wife that she nor him had time for any repairs and asked me if I could do it.  Since they were a warranty customer, I told them I could do it for $85.00, which was basically our cost.  At no time was I trying to take advantage of the [redacted] or the situation. This was done at the agent’s request.
[redacted] has made numerous inaccurate statements regarding the series of events and our phone conversation.  [redacted] phoned in the request for this inspection to the office on June 19 and advised the closing would be Monday, June 30.  The inspection was scheduled and performed June 25, not the day before the closing as he claimed.  His statement that I said that “my employee made a mistake” and “I can’t watch them all the time” is also false.  That would be completely unprofessional and a poor reflection on this Company.
I do understand his frustration and wish we had talked the day of the inspection, instead of after the fact.  I do think this would have turned out differently.  With that said, I am willing to refund the inspection fee of $78.00 to resolve this matter and as a good-will gesture since they have been a warranty client for several years.

Review: In 2011 we paid Chesterfield Pest Services company $630 to treat for termites and any other damages needed to our home. In 2012, 2013, and 2014 we paid an additional $139 per year for the home warreanty. In 2014 just before we sold the home and still under thier warreanty chesterfield pest service changed us an additional $85 for damage that should have been fixed by them back in 2011. I called the company owner and explained to him our position but he stated the change was correct for which I totally disagreed. Additinally, the company knew we were to close on selling the house the next day and had to have an inspection sheet completed and signed and I feel strongly the compnay took advantage of the situation knowing it had to be done.Desired Settlement: Refund the $85 additional change for damages that shoudl not have been changed in the first place.

Response:

A termite treatment was proposed and performed by Chesterfield Pest Services in 2011. No termite damage was proposed to be repaired, requested to be repaired or performed by this Company at that time. [redacted] currently has a renewable termite warranty with this Company against re-infestation of subterranean termites as specified in the initial proposal and subsequent Warranty Certificates.

A WDIR (Wood Destroying Insect Report) inspection for the sale of their home was requested by [redacted] on June 19, 2014. During the scheduled inspection on June 25, 2014, the existing termite damage in garage was noted and was requested and authorized to be repaired for $85.00 by [redacted] and their real estate agent, [redacted].

I have reviewed and do not accept Chesterfield Pest Service ([redacted]) response to my complaint and to their dismay I’m sure, I understand very well what transpired. I also think Chesterfield Pest Services is making misleading statement in order to foggy the issue which really is straight forward and very clear. I have set up this response to address specifically each comment [redacted] is claiming.

[redacted]: I have reviewed the letter from [redacted] and would like to clarify some concerns in his letter.

My Response: I fully understand the two type of services are different with different criteria but the damage was/is common to both services and did not change between the two services in which Chesterfield Pest Services provided. It clearly appears [redacted] wants it both ways, on the one hand for three years [redacted] and the Chesterfield Pest Services claimed there was no reportable damage and then when [redacted] knew the inspection had to be completed to sell the house then all of a sudden there was reportable damage which had to be fixed or he was going to put it in the report. [redacted] can try to spin this any way that he wishes but this will not chance the facts as they are.

[redacted]: It should also be noted that this real estate inspection was performed when the house and garage were vacant and there were no stored items or furniture to create inaccessible areas.

My Response: This is another example of [redacted] misleading statements. What has this got to do with this situation…really? The damaged area was in clear view without any stored items or furniture to create inaccessible areas and [redacted] clearly knows that. The damaged area was toward the front of the garage in clear and full view during all inspections over the three year period. Additionally, Chesterfield Pest Services as allegedly the professionals if this was not the case and areas were inaccessible one would think it should be noted in the report versus clearly reporting no damage.

Since they were a warranty customer, I told them I could do it for $85.00, which was basically our cost. At no time was I trying to take advantage of the [redacted] or the situation. This was done at the agent’s request.

My Response: Again misleading statements by [redacted], I think [redacted] is attempting to say that the agent is the one who authorized the repair or that is what it appears. As a professional [redacted] should know that any agent cannot authorize costing repairs without the owner’s specific permission. So again for [redacted] to make this statement which has no bearing on the facts is questionable.

[redacted]: [redacted] has made numerous inaccurate statements regarding the series of events and our phone conversation.

My Response: Unfortunately, I think from the above one can see [redacted] continued attempts in providing misleading statements and denying the facts but this will not change them. I understood very clearly in our phone conversation what [redacted] had stated to deny them now only provides more evidence of his misleading intentions.

[redacted]: I do understand his frustration and wish we had talked the day of the inspection, instead of after the fact. I do think this would have turned out differently. With that said, I am willing to refund the inspection fee of $78.00 to resolve this matter and as a good-will gesture since they have been a warranty client for several years.

My Response: I was the one who telephone [redacted] in an attempt to resolve the situation and [redacted] showed arrogance and an compete unwillingness to compromise until I got you (Revdex.com) involved and now he is showing a different side. I am more convince now than ever before of [redacted] misleading intentions however I too want to resolve this matter.

If [redacted] is willing to refund the inspection amount of $78.00 as he has already agreed to and the $85.00 for the cost of questionable repair I will agree to this situation being resolved.

Review: On November 10, 2015 Chesterfield Pest Control treated my apartment as contracted by [redacted]. When we left the apartment my XBOX one was on the shelf connected to the TV. This console was in working order as I had used it that morning. When I arrived back home I found the console damaged. It was on the shelf with the side lying beside it and the wires unplugged. I attempted to reconnect my XBOX only to find that it now does not work. I contacted the apartment complex which contacted Chesterfield Pest control. The response I received is they don't believe there is enough information to prove their technician broke the XBOX. There was no one else in my apartment. The box did not fall off the shelf and then put it self back up on the shelf.Desired Settlement: I would like them to pay to repair if possible or replace my XBOX. I am dropping it off the see if it can be repaired.

Business

Response:

We consulted with the servicing technician who advised he had not seen or come in contact with any Xbox One console. Our routine pest control service typically includes treatment to kitchen and bathroom areas. Furthermore, we received no pictures or other supporting evidence giving any indications that we were responsible. We also consulted with a repair specialist for clarification on the facts in the email we received from the claimant. After our investigation, we have no reason to believe we are responsible for these damages.

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. When I came home and found that my XBOX console was broke, I contacted the apartment complex as I did not know who was contracted to to this work, was told to email complaint. I followed up with an email. The next day the apartment complex stated the contractor denied claim. No one ever attempted to contact me, no one ever requested pictures. Not sure what the picture will show, I did not have an indoor surveillance system, I might have to get one if any further contractors need to be in my home while I am at work. Sad, but that seems to be the world we live in, as the box was placed back on the mantle, so who ever put it back knows they did it. They just did not plug the cables back in. The XBOX was on the mantle shelf above the fireplace. I would think that a pest control contractor would have spread in this area as it is a place pest may enter the apartment. I would love to sit down with the technician and business to discuss this. They may reach me at [redacted]
