Revdex.com: I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below At our request on 9/19/Chesterfield Pest Seervices conducted an inspection of our detached garage for possible termites (receipt attached)During this inspection the report indicated termites were found under the sides of the garageThe report also clearly indicated and the block was checked "No" to evidence of damage was presentOn 10/14/Chesterfield Pest Services treated our garage for termites and we paid $(receipt attached)Again from the receipt there was no indication of any evidence of damage from the termitesI asked the employee at the time if there was any damage that would need repair and he clearly stated no since we had caught the termites earlyOn 8/21/Chesterfield Pest Services conducted an annual termite warranty renewal inspection and report for which we paid $and again the reciept (attached) indicated and the block again was checked "No" for evidence of damageOn 8/9/Chesterfield Pest Services conducted another annual termite warranty renewal inspection and report and we paid another $(receipt attached) which again did not indicate termite damage was presentOn 6/25/while still under Chesterfield Pest Services warranty a wood destroying insect report was conducted by [redacted] owner of Chesterfield Pest Services and now three years later after three years of documented no evidence of damage from termites [redacted] decides to change the determination to there is evidence of damage only to take advantage of the situation [redacted] was told before his inspection that this inspection was needed for the closing on the selling of the house the next dayConsidering the documented facts on three years of no evidence of damage from termites from Chesterfield Pest Services and now that being reversed there is little doubt [redacted] was attempting to take advantage of the situationOn 9/07/during a discussion with [redacted] on the phone he admitted several times that his employees made a mistake but his response was he can't watch them all the time [redacted] was also very arrogant stating he was inconvenienced by having to fix the termite damage that was never there and that he could have changed us a lot more for the repairThere is zero doubt in my mind that [redacted] and the Chesterfield Pest Services was taking advantage of state and county pest services issued licenses in holding us hostage to paying him for damage that had not been there for three yearsThis is a totally unethical business practice and it should not be accepted by anyone Based on the above undisputable evidence request the following actions be taken to corredct this situation: Chesterfield Pest Services reimburse us the $that was charged for the claim of termite damage on the wood destroying insect report conducted 6/25/ Chesterfield Pest Services reimburse us for the two years of annual termite warranty renewal inspection at $per year for a total of $ Chesterfield Pest Services and [redacted] issue a signed letter apologizing for their wrong doing and mistake If the above corrective action is not accepted, as additional stepsI will file a formal complaiint with both state and local pest services licensing offices detailing [redacted] and Chesterfield Pest Services unethical business practicesI will also file for reimbursement in local small claims court for which I'm sure the evidence clearly shows additional changes were not warranted Regards, [redacted]
July 25, I have reviewed the letter from [redacted] and would like to clarify some concerns in his letter The inspection I performed at his wife’s request is different than the annual termite warranty re-inspection that he is referring to that has been performed in the past A WDIR inspection must follow intensive inspection criteria, including probing wood, checking attics, and inspecting for evidence of, or damage from, all wood destroying insects A WDIR inspection for a real estate transaction (which the mortgage company requires) is very specific concerning damage It should also be noted that this real estate inspection was performed when the house and garage were vacant and there were no stored items or furniture to create inaccessible areas I showed his wife and his real estate agent the damage to the sill plate in the garage I recommended to his wife that it would be a simple repair and explained how it could be fixed At that time, his agent told his wife that she nor him had time for any repairs and asked me if I could do it Since they were a warranty customer, I told them I could do it for $85.00, which was basically our cost At no time was I trying to take advantage of the [redacted] or the situationThis was done at the agent’s request [redacted] has made numerous inaccurate statements regarding the series of events and our phone conversation [redacted] phoned in the request for this inspection to the office on June and advised the closing would be Monday, June The inspection was scheduled and performed June 25, not the day before the closing as he claimed His statement that I said that “my employee made a mistake” and “I can’t watch them all the time” is also false That would be completely unprofessional and a poor reflection on this Company I do understand his frustration and wish we had talked the day of the inspection, instead of after the fact I do think this would have turned out differently With that said, I am willing to refund the inspection fee of $to resolve this matter and as a good-will gesture since they have been a warranty client for several years
