Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I was told by the salesman that I was filling out a credit application for him to obtain my credit scoreThis was for a Chevy Tahoe, not an impalaMy credit was run NINE timesI understand that a single inquiry minimally affects a credit score, but nine inquiries brought my score down quite a bitI believe that I should have been made aware that my information was going to be shopped instead of the "Let's see what your score might be" Regards, Raymond [redacted]

We contacted the customer and agreed with her It was our errorWe agreed to replace her tires and perform an alignment on her Traverse at no cost to herWe are sorry it elevated to this level We are in the process of ordering the tires and expect to have repair arrangements made by the end of the week

Mr***, I am aware when you were here you were working on a Tahoe, but in December when this process started we began with an inquiry on an Impala those inquiries were made by the banks who decide what rate and if they may accept your application. I am sorry if my sales person was not clear or you did not understand the process. I will speak to him on that matter. Car loans are not decided on credit score alone, they are only one piece of the puzzle. The vehicles age mileage and other factors in your credit report determined by the banks, control your eligibility. Banks have credit analyst that review each application to determine what gets approved and at what rate. Dealers have no control or can we determine the rate to quote payments. Again I offer our apologies if we did not communicate that effectively enoughI will speak to all parties involved and make sure they stress that any application given by a customer will go to the bank for approval. Please let me know how else we can resolve this situation. Nick ***

We contacted the customer and agreed with her.  It was our error. We agreed to replace her tires and perform an alignment on her Traverse at no cost to her. We are sorry it elevated to this level.  We are in the process of ordering the tires and expect to have repair arrangements made...

by the end of the week.

I am sorry for the delay in your repair.  We are also held hostage by your warranty company.  Since you did not purchase your vehicle or service contract from us there is little we can do to get your warranty company to respond or authorize any repairs on your vehicle.  Pat M[redacted] did...

try to contact you on Friday 10/14/16 to bring you up to date on your repair.  Your Warranty Co, did finally authoriZe the repair so we hope to have it completed as soon as possible.  If you have any other questions please contact me at [redacted]thanks Nick W[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I want to clarify that I have a Cadillac CTS not a Chevy Traverse.

Ms. [redacted] we have had contact with Mr. [redacted] since 12/28/15.  He spoke with Dawn [redacted] on the phone about an impala we had in stock.  At that time Mr. [redacted] asked about finance options.  When he arrived at the dealership he had asked not to be involved with Doug [redacted] and...

Doug had nothing to do with any finance options for Mr. [redacted].  Marsh [redacted] handled the negotiations with Mr. [redacted].  In order to quote payments since this was not a new car, and there were no set finance special rates, .  We need a bank to dictate what interest rate Mr.[redacted] would qualify for. Also since it was an older vehicle it would be more difficult to determin an interest rate.  Because of Mr. [redacted] credit challenges we were not able to secure an approval for him that evening.  Mr. [redacted] did have knowledge we were submitting him to our bank sources.  He filled out his own credit application, he received a privacy notice and he received a Risk Based Pricing Score provided by the credit breau.  I don't know what went on with Mr. [redacted] and Doug [redacted] in the past, but Doug had nothing to do with this visit to the dealership.  I don't know how else we would have determined payments with out submitting Mr.[redacted] to the banks. Mr. [redacted] gave us permission by filling out and signing the credit application.  We are sorry we could not obtain financing for him, and his score may have been affected slightly by the inquiries, but inquiries don't change someone's credit score drastically.  Chevrolet Of Turnersville prides itself in the ability to help customers obtain financing, because of our strong relationships with many banks.  We are sorry we could not help Mr. [redacted].  Thank You. Nick [redacted], General Manager, Chevrolet of Turnersville

Review: My fiance and I contacted the dealer the morning of May 9, 2013 with the intention of trading and purchasing a vehicle. We met with [redacted] upon arrival. We completed the credit application, waited about 4 hours, then left to handle some business while [redacted] waited for credit approval. We returned approximately 2 hours later, provided more info for the credit app, then waited afew more hours. Finally [redacted] came to us, contacts in hand, we signed. [redacted] said we needed full coverage to drive off, due to time, we had to handle that the next day. Before we left, we met with [redacted]. He took our down payment, and we signed away our trade. I left the title with them. The trade wasn't drivable, they knew that and arranged for the tow. The next morning, my fiance and I payed $535 in full coverage insurance, travelled back to Turnersville, no problem. They picked up my trade about 3 days later, I don't remember exactly. I had a 2008 Nissan Sentra, and was glad to be rid of the headache I traded. Five days after we signed, I lost my job. About May 20, I began receiving calls from Chevrolet of Turnersville inquiring about my job. I told them what happened, not to worry, I was actively looking and interviewing. May 22, an angry, irate man called and told me to return his car because I lost my job. He said I had to give him $3000 or the car or he'd call the police and report it stolen. I took the car back on May 23. My first payment was due June 9, 2013. I never had the opportunity to make it. I took three car back. I was LIVID!!! They returned my down payment, told me all contracts were null and void like we never came, andthey said they'd tow my trade back to my house. May 30, my new Wife called the dealership to inquire about the whereabouts of our trade. [redacted] said it was our responsibility to pay for the tow. We didn't pay to have it towed to them, they said they'd have it towed back. We called [redacted]. He said he thought it was in our possession. I have the title, no carDesired Settlement: They offered $200 for my trade at purchase. They revoked the contract, null and void. I paid $1601, cash, for the car. We put over $3000 worth of parts and work intro it before attempting to trade. I want the money back that I payed and put into it.

Response:

On may 9th Ms [redacted] came into Chevrolet to purchase a used vehicle. After submitting her credit information to the bank we received a credit approval through Santander Bank for the purchase of a 2008 Nissan Sentra pending bank conformation. May 9th was a saturday, on Monday apparently Ms [redacted] lost her job or quit. So the bank could not verify employment. Her approval would have been ok provided Ms [redacted] had another job which the bank could verify. we worked with Ms [redacted] for several weeks to try to resolve this, but she would not provide us with a new employer. We asked her to return the car. When she refused we sent a tow truck for the car. Finally she returned the vehicle. We refunded 100% of her deposit and returned her keys and title to her trade. We did not charge her for use of the vehicle or milage she put on the Sentra. There was no charge to her for towing her trade to the dealership. We told her once she was employed again we would try to obtain a new approval for her. She didn’t understand why she needed a job in order to finance a vehicle. If you have any other question please contact me.
