urchased not one but two new Chevy Traxx on Sept 4, 2019. They were very incompetent how they handled everything. They didn't record our new address after we purchased the cars. They didn't follow up with any phone calls, emails nothing. Got your money so, we don't need you anymore.

They were especially incompetent in getting our license plates. My husband I and I called and went over there several times only to be bold face lied to regarding our license plates. I had to call Springfield to follow up where our plates were. The bozos at this dealership didn't send the correct information regarding the lien holder on of the cars for one set of plates. That's one issue. The second issue is that they only gave us one set of keys for each car, not a spare. Was told that one of the keys was misplaced but it then turned up some how. Had to wait for the keys to be reprogrammed and that it would take 20 min or so but it took over an hour! I have never in my life have had one of the WORST car buying experiences as I have at this dealership. I will not recommend to this place to ANYONE.

this is tricky because the car was fixed at *** Chevy, which became *** Chevrolet and then Chevrolet of Palatine, so its hard to get any response from anyone, and it is very frustrating, My 73 year old mother battling lung cancer took her car to this dealer in palatine to fix her 2012 chevy traverse which had engine troubles, they looked at it and determined that she needed a new engine, she agreed to get the engine replaced with a used engine, during the time they were fixing the car she was in and out of the hospital battling her illness, the car was fixed about a week and half before we could get the loaner back to them and we were getting threatening phone calls about calling the police on her etc etc, so we get the loaner back and pick up her car, she got it home and right away there were problems with the car not starting , so we started calling the dealer everyday and was told someone would call us back no one did, then the exhaust fell off the new engine because they didnt put the washer back on correctly still didnt hear from them until a week later when they left a message saying that my mother had paid with a check that was no good and the police were coming to arrest her(now she did accidentally pay with a check from a closed account) she was confused and going through treatment at the time, I was in contact with Todd Thommes to try and rectify the situation he told me absolute lies and I told him I wanted the car back there to get fixed and we would pay on it gladly, I have since had the car towed back to them and have not heard a word in 5 days please help!!

Chevrolet of Palatine Response • Mar 05, 2020

Our dealership, Chevrolet of Palatine, performed an engine repair on the vehicle, without taking any money down on the approximately $8,000 repair. The customer picked up the vehicle and paid by check--a check drawn on a closed account. Subsequently, the customer arranged for the vehicle to be towed back to the dealership and asked us to perform additional repairs, including a starter and exhaust. We are unwilling to perform additional repairs without payment for the engine repair.

New name, same horrible customer service.
I brought my car which is under warranty to Chevrolet of Palatine (Grossinger) to get repaired.
Check engine light is on and the engine is horrendously loud, clanking. It was also sluggish. There was also an oil leak. Pulled into the drive with the check engine light on and the clanking was very loud. The service advisor David said “I hear it, something isn’t right.” Check engine light was on when he got the miles out of the car and he heard the noise. I showed him pictures of the oil leak, which you can see under the hood and under the vehicle which I brought it for last month and they said it wasn’t leaking and cleaned it up. The oil leak was back.
David calls me the same day, said there is no check engine light on (which he saw in the drive) said there is no noise (he heard it in the drive) and there is no oil leak only seeping (they cleaned it off last month and it’s soaked with oil again.) Lying to me hours after he and I both witnessed these issues at the same time and addressed it to me. Lying to customers.
He told me he is not fixing the car, even though he had admitted he heard the noise earlier, saw the check engine light and the leak. Blew me off. Told me to pick my car up. I bought a car with a warranty so when it breaks I can bring it to the dealer to get fixed. Not blown off. He was rude and obviously does not want to fix anything. I will have to take my car to a different dealership to get repaired under warranty because they refuse.
I’ve had poor experiences at Grossinger Chevrolet, and they continue at Chevrolet of Palatine. I will not be returning nor buy a vehicle there again.
