I reserved a mid-size car thru Expedia online for Pickup on 5/23 at noon.....when I arrived they processed me and tried to pressure me into insurance...which I declined...then I find out apparently they added some type of road assistance as well which she said she credited back...After all that THEN she tells me that they don't have the car I reserved (a month ago). So that they UPGRADED me to an SUV...I said I needed a car....as my wife and I are seniors and both fairly short and would have a hard time getting in and out of it. (Jeep Cherokee)...Having argued long enough I decided to try it....I drove it for about 2 hours....(It drove like a truck)...went out to dinner and decided that this wasn't going to work for the week. We called Thrifty and they again said they didn't have any cars only trucks...they said to try back in the morning....which I did..didn't have any....about 20 minutes later a guy (manager?) calls back and said they had the car I rented....and that I need to hurry as it was a "hot commodity". I told him it would be about an hour....he said he would "try" and hold it. I showed up about 45 minutes later and checked in the truck....went to the counter....there were 4 people in line....I stepped to the side and waited for the guy to finish with the one he was with and then told him I was here to exchange the truck for what I rented.....He didn't even
acknowledge me....but instead asked who was next in line....at which time I advised him that I'm next....I stood in the line yesterday, to only be disappointed that they didn't have the car I rented.....and that I didn't feel it necessary to go thru the complete process AGAIN. I felt they should have had the paperwork already completed and just drop off one and pickup the correct one. He was rude, unprofessional....but agreed to take me......(Overnight I did contact Expedia by email and advised them of the situation and asked them to intervene and have corrected for me by the next morning. They of course just sent a response saying we need to call them) Apparently businesses don't really care about your "vacation time" and think you can waste a few hours here or there....and aggravation and that it won't affect your vacation....well it does....don't have time to take care of someone else's problems....all I asked for was the car I rented and paid for....now looking at their rating I can see I should have checked the Revdex.com first.....
