Hello ***,
sans-serif;">
I am writing in response to ID #***
*** *** came into our station previously to discuss this dispute and I have explained to her thoroughly the reason she was charged and why we are not able to refund this gas chargeI have pulled up the receipts and reports from our system and here is the explanation
On October 21, 2013, *** pulled into pump # and authorized her Visa card on the outside terminal for this pumpThe authorization went through, as proven by the receipt I pulled up*** may have not believed it went through, or for whatever matter, she then moved to pump #4, directly in front of pump and came inside of our station to now authorize this pump #When *** came in, she had our employee authorize pump #for $with the same Visa cardShe then went back outside and pumped $out of the $authorizedPump was still authorized outside with her Visa card because apparently minutes later gallons was dispensed for a total of $This explains the charges of $and $on her Visa card.
The gas was indeed dispensed both times, as I have the receipts for both transactionsAt this point, we have no control over returning gas once it is pumpedIt is also not our responsibility for what customers authorize on their cards by themselves on the outside terminalsThe only way it can be authorized outside is if the customer slides their card and validates it with either their pin # or zip code, and this is their own responsibilityOur system does not store credit/debit card information once the transaction is complete, therefore we would not even be able to make this 2nd charge of $ourselvesOur calibrations on all of our pumps are passed by the state on a regular basis, and it is on the state recordTherefore, nothing was wrong with the pump, it was simply authorized by the customer and gas was pumped.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact meIf you would like copies of the receipts/ transactions, I would be more than happy to provide those as well.
Thank you,
Management

On October 21, 2013 I was trying to buy gas at Chevron station #207800 on Jackson Dr.  As I have many times in the past I was trying to use the credit card authorization machine outside.  I inserted my Visa card and was unable to complete the information needed as the machine would stop working.  After trying for a short time I thought the machine was not working properly and went inside to purchase gas with my Visa card.  I went back to my car and dispensed the full tank of gas I needed (10.72 gallons) and left the station.  I have the receipt that shows the gas was dispensed from pump #4.  The amount was $42.46.  I discussed this with the manager and after checking it out she said that 3 minutes later 19.11 gallons of gas were dispensed from pump #2 for a total of $75.66.  By that time I would have left the station.  I have a Honda Accord (1999)  and I can't imagine anyone thinking that it would hold 29.83 gallons of gas.  Of course I am not asking for 19.11 gallons of gas.  I want a refund on my Visa for $75.66 which was a fraudulent charge.  That charge was made for pump #2 by a machine I was not able to get to work properly.  It was not my fault.

Hello,

Like I said previously, we are not responsible for fraudulent charges on credit cards. If this is a fraudulent charge, I advise it be taken up with the credit card company for we have no relation to this problem; it was not done by us. Once a customer authorizes the pumps outside, gas will be dispensed if pumped. We have no control over who pumps it and/or who authorizes it outside; once gas is dispensed, that charge is complete and final. There is no such thing as reimbursing charges for gallons that were indeed dispensed. We pay for the gas as well, and that is gas leaving our site.

Review: On Oct. 21 I stopped at the named station for gas. I put my Visa card into the machine at the pump but could not get it to finish or dispense gas. I went into the 7-11 office and had my card run through their machine for a total of $50.00. Then dispensed gas at pump #4 for a total of $42.46 which is the amount on my Visa bill. The amount of $75.66 was on the same bill but from pump #2 which was pumped three minutes after mine was pumped. I am being charged for that amount also even though I never received this gas and did not try to pump anything from this pump. I have discussed this with the manager ([redacted]) and was informed that since pump #2 dispensed that amount of gas (9.112 gal.)on my card I was responsible for the payment of that amount. I did not let anyone else use my card nor did I lose it and think it is unfair that I am being charged when their charge machine was not working properly.Desired Settlement: I am forced too pay this amount as it was added to my bill when the Visa people could not solve the problem and would like the amount of $75.66 refunded to me.
