We did nothing wrong. I did have to call out the Butte County Sheriff when he was here because he was trying to pick a fight with my driver.  But we still did nothing wrong.  We have never in 35 years had a customer go so far out of his way to get out of paying for a tow before.[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I never gave Chico Economy Towing permission to release my car to anyone. I spoke to [redacted] and the tow truck was suppose to be there before I got there because I didn't want any problems to occur, and thought there may be because I was threatened and cussed at by a man who said I was harassing his mother. When I arrived to the tow yard to pay them for towing my car to there lot. There was no tow truck there, and was told they by the owner of Chico economy tow that they instructed them to leave. I was very upset with that occurring and called [redacted] to have them make other arrangements. I went inside to pay them there money the charged for their unethical bussneies practices and went outside to my car. That is when the driver from Chico economy tow came out side and started hacking on me. I let him know that his age would just make it easy on me. He continued to bother me and o felt it would be best for me to leave before things got physical and I ended up putting driver in a whole world of hurt. At no point did I give Chico Economy Tow they could release my car to anyone. At no point did I refuse to make a payment. I was unable to make a credit card payment over the phone, but I was heading to my house to make and would pay then. I was told the driver was on overtime and he can't wait much longer. I offered that the drive leaves the car at my house and meet me some where since they would be heading the direction I was coming from. I was told that they would not unload the car until they had payment in hand. I let her know I was on the way and I'll pay when I get there.I was told I better hurry because the driver would take my car to there impound lot. I demanded that my car not be taken from my property and I will pay them the money I agreed upon. I was hung up on and when I got home a couple minutes later my car nor tow truck was at my house. I called them and let them know I was home where is my car. They said it was heading to Chico. I requested they have the driver bring it back and collect payment. They said no you come here to pick it up or we can tow it to you tomorrow but I would have to pay for another tow. i was in total shock, and called chp were I was informed that the bussneies practice they didn't agree with and unethical there was nothing they could do about it. I have never nor would I ever not pay someone  or busneiss what I owe them a d agreed to pay. I was not driving the vehicle that was heading to my house from Chico. I feel they should have let me know when they plained on arriving and it I wasn't there at that time they would do what they did, or they shouldn't of towed the car at all. The drive was so lazy he didn't even get out of the truck and attempt to collect payment from someone in the house. Nobody came to the door is what I was told and informed Chico economy towing. How is that good faith?I was not there when Chico economy tow picked up the car and I wasn't there when they released it either. I gave them permission to take the car to my house. I wasn't there when they released it and never gave them permission to release my vehicle to anyone. Chico economy tow continues to say I refused to pay them. Well they got money for not even doing what I wanted. After a bit of a scare and time spent worring I located my car. I had no problem paying a professional and ethical company to tow my car to my house from Chico. Do to Chico Econmy Tow I suffered damages and was forced to pay them for something that I didn't want them to do. I was left days with out a car. This is not the way to treat people and feel there are laws that protect consumers from this type of thing from happening. They also need to stop slandering my name; it may effect my business and I have already lost enough income do to their actions.

This customer was not at his vehicle when we towed it, he told my driver he left it in nuetral and he would pay for the tow when it was delivered to his house. This customer was NOT at his home, we waited for him over 30 minutes, after 3 phone calls that I made to him, he still never showed up, he...

did not have the money to pay us, and in fact was never planning on paying us. I called his auto club and told them he was not there, and they told me I had every right to tow it back to our storage yard for non-payment. He originated the tow when he called his auto club. He started calling me every minute the next day demanding I bring his car back to Live Oak. He was directed to CHP who then told him we were in the right and after he made several calls to the towing officer, she told him she was no longer going to talk to him and to quit calling her. Then he had me on speed dial and kept harassing me until I finally had the phone company block his calls because he would not stop calling as soon as I hung up on him. I spoke to his auto club supervisors several times and they didn't know what to do about him because he kept refusing to pay us unless we towed his car back to Live Oak again. He finally showed up on Friday to pay for his tow, tried to get into a fist fight with my driver, I had to call out the Sheriff to keep the peace, and he left just before they showed up.  His auto club dispatched [redacted] Towing to pick the car up from our storage yard and tow it to Live Oak, and he was to pay [redacted] Towing $150 to do this as his out of pocket cost.  After he ran them around avoiding payment, [redacted] tow finally had it and parked his car outside of their storage yard and said they were not dealing with him any longer.  We did nothing wrong.  He initiated the tow, and refused to pay us or [redacted] towing for the tow. There is a law protecting us called "Defrauding an Innkeeper", and not it is not just for hotels. It is a felony. He never had any intention on paying, and even told his auto club he did not even have a credit card to pay for the tow.  I do not know who finally towed it, or whether or not they got paid.  This customer just harasses people, and then makes it look like we are the bad people in the situation.

Review: Tow company was contacted by a third party my auto insurance uses for road side assistance. This company towed my car with out providing me any documents. I have yet to receive anything about the tow and it has been 24 hours. I agreed to pay the 140 charge for my car to be towed in Live Oak. I left my car at the parking lot. The company took my car and said they went to my house to drop off the car. When I got to my house the car was not there either was the tow truck. I called the company and was told the truck just left. I asked if they could please return my car and the said no you have to pick it up in Chico and you have to get your car out of storage. I felt this was wrong but try to be reasonable. The following day I said I would pay 200 but would want the car back at my house I was denied this and the person used foul language and request to meet me some where. I said come to my house and please bring the car. I do not understand how they expect me to pay for them driving the car to there lot. Then to use foul language. I have been hung up on when I have request the proper documentation required by law. I agreed to pay to have the car brought to my home and it never did. They said the will put a lien on the car and sale it. They stated they conduct business like that all the time.Desired Settlement: Get my car to Live Oak and I will pay what I agreed too
