Childrens Dental Center of Madison, S.C.

My toddler daughter ([redacted]) visited [redacted]. in early this year for a teeth cleaning procedure, and the dentist at [redacted] found two decayed teeth redirected her to Children's Dental Center of Madison S.C. for a filling procedure. This was because she was too young for them to perform the procedure. So, I brought her to Children's Dental Center of Madison S.C. and she received the procedure in June 2011, and we decided to stay w/ them for future cleaning procedures. In December my daughter had a cleaning procedure, which was supposed to be free, and we got a nearly $50 bill. We found out that the exam part was not covered since she had three exams total (one at the first choice dental in February, second at Children's dental office for the filling procedure in June, and the third with the cleaning procedure in December 2011). The problem here is that they are responsible for letting us know what services/procedures are going to be performed so that we can check with the insurance company (our insurance company only covers 2 exams per year) so that we can make the decision about the timing of the services/visits, but they failed to provide us the detailed information of what procedures they are going to perform and how many times the procedure (e.g., exam, cleaning, etc.). Without their explicit, detailed explanation, it's almost impossible track the insurance coverage issues; how would I know they are going to perform an exam while the primary purpose of visit was "cleaning" unless they inform that to us. On the other hand, our previous dental office always told us what they are planning to do, explain the insurance implication, and get our approval, which they never did during the December cleaning procedure. If they kindly explain this to me, I could've schedule the procedure in early January 2012 instead of December so that I don't need to pay any out-of-pocket cost.
