Child's Auto Repair, Inc Reviews (1)

To whom it may concern:There are several gross inaccuracies in Mr. [redacted]'s complaint, and there are several reasons thatChilds Auto Repair would not acquiesce to Mr. [redacted]'s demands. Mr. [redacted] was openly hostile, extremely condecending and overly demanding. Mr. [redacted] was also out of any...

warranty period by atleast 6 months, and he was not the original owner of the vehicle. Warranty coverage on auto repairstraditionally expire at change of ownership. Furthermore, Mr. [redacted] has been poorly advised by atechnician that clearly has no formal training in engine design or internal combustion engine theory.
The circumstances surrounding [redacted]s repair needs are hardly conducive to our participationin the matter. He revealed that a warranty policy was paying for the entire repair except cylinder heads. The machine shop that tested the cylinder heads reported that only one cylinder head was crackedextensively enough to warrant it's replacement. Yet, Mr [redacted] elected to replace both heads. Thecylinder heads on the IHC 6.0 are prone to cracking in locations that are not detrimental to function oroperation, and are commonly reused when these small cracks are noted. During the original repair thesesmall cracks were noted and Childs Auto Repair and the customer elected to reuse the cylinder heads. The proposal that the suggested issue with the cylinder head gasket would predicate head failure is alsopreposterous. Ford Corp offers several part numbers for the 6.0 liter head gasket. One variety hasalignment holes that are 2 mm larger than the other design, otherwise identical. The technicianperforming the current repairs is suggesting that difference is what caused one cylinder head to crack.Unlikely. In fact, impossible. The final component weighing our decision was the extent to which thevehicle owner at the time of our repairs tied our hands financially. We were compelled to repair anextensively damaged engine at minimal expense.
The shop at large was hesitant to answer Mr. [redacted]'s calls because he was so verbally abusive. Beingrude was not the intent. He showed himself to be almost explosive when it appeared his demandswould not be met. So, conversation with him was not desired, being far from delightful.
