Chilson Corner Motors of Cadott Reviews (10)

Our dealership strives to offer a customer friendly atmosphere where our customers are satisfied with the experience we provide We have reviewed the concerns from the customer and compared the concerns to our internal notes from our service files First Time: Tires were replaced on the van at 47,miles 10/15/and at 99,miles 11/07/2014, the only wheel bearing replacement that I can find in our history is on 10/15/98,miles and these were replaced under coverage provided by the Chrysler Service contract that was in effect on the vehicle Second Time: Unfortunately, I did not have record of this concern This situation unfortunately can happen, we strive to not have this happen, but I sincerely apologize for the situationThird Time: EGA Filter- EGR Valve – Exhaust gas recirculation valve – The EGR valve was replaced at 108,miles 01/16/2015, diagnosed on 12/04/at 105,miles, maintenance was performed on 12/03/at 105,miles, this situation would be an unfortunate coincidence The check engine light came on the day following the transmission fluid & filter replacement, coolant flush, and oil change However, none of these services would have impacted the performance or operation of the EGR valve as its purpose is to recirculate some of the exhaust emissions back through the engine to burn the harmful gasses left in some of the exhaust to meet emission requirements The EGR valve does have a useful life and at some point this valve gets sticky and does not perform as it should any longer The vehicle tests this system frequently and will illuminate the check engine light when the valve fails to perform to manufacturer specification Fourth Time: Caliper bent at next tire rotation – Tires replaced at 99,miles 11/07/2014, rear brake caliper no longer self-adjusting replaced 01/16/108,miles Over the last couple of years, we have been replacing rear calipers on Dodge Grand Caravans and Chrysler Town&Country vans We have noticed that the rear brakes perform as engineered for a decent period of time, but over time it seems that the salt and road grime infiltrate the rear brake caliper slide mechanisms and cause the caliper to not slide as engineered There are two slide pin mechanisms on each caliper and many times one or both of these mechanisms will seize and cause the brake pads to wear unevenly which is the situation we documented and repaired on 1/16/visit This uneven wear may seem as though the caliper was bent, but it is caused by the caliper slides no longer functioningSon’s Car Visit: We performed an oil change on 3/6/on the Saturn Lwith 188,miles, the first and only service repair on this vehicle Our oil change consists of an oil and filter change and a 16pt visual inspection for $tax included with a car wash coupon During our oil change, we replace the oil, replace the filter, and do a visual inspection during which we check for any obvious concerns, however we do not perform a road test of the vehicle The customer says the wheel bearing went out day later, our notes stated the customer had called and told us the next day there was some kind of grease type substance coming out of the right hand side of the vehicle, it is possible the wheel bearing was bad, but that type of situation may be difficult to diagnose without a road test or without the customer asking us to check out an unusual noise while we have it on the hoist Suburban Repair: We performed a synthetic oil change on the Chevrolet Suburban on 3/13/with 230,miles, the first and only service repair on the vehicle The cost for this repair is $ This oil change process is the same as the one listed above, except we use full synthetic oil instead of our 50/conventional / synthetic blend oil Following this repair, on 3/17/the customer had contacted us about an oil leak on the garage floor coming from the Suburban since we had did the oil change We inspected the vehicle and found that the oil filter housing was faulty and was causing an oil leak We replaced the oil filter with a new one, inspected the repair and verified the oil filter was no longer leaking During our inspection we noted and informed the customer of some oil seepage that had been taking place in two areas on the vehicle, left side of the oil pan and the right hand axle seal area were damp and had dirty residue from fluid accumulating in those areas for some time I spoke with the customer and told him we had cleaned both areas and that he should keep an eye on the right hand axle seal as it was damp and showed some residue After speaking with the customer he had relayed to me that Farm & Fleet had replaced the axle seals already and did not understand how they could be leaking I relayed to the customer that in my experience leaking front axle seals on that age of Chevrolet was very common and was a recurring issue The customer did not agree with my experience and informed me that he had never had a fluid leak in 230,miles He suggested that the manner in which we drove the vehicle into the service bay could cause some damage or issues I did not agree with that conclusion Settlement: I will offer to the customer the value of the tire rotations left on the tires that were installed on the van - Tires replaced at 47,miles and 99,miles, average life of the tires 50,miles, tire rotation every 6,miles = 8.333, assuming 9, rotation already performed leaving remaining Rotations multiplied by $charge per rotation = $ We will send a check to the customer when this case is closed by the Revdex.com [redacted] Chilson Corner Motors of Cadott LLCEast Chippewa Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Below I have included my details including a settlement that I would be acceptable with. I am rejecting their offer due to the lack of details provided and the settlement that is documentedFirst, I had three wheel bearings done at their facility in which they were covered under warranty with me paying $for a deductibleThe caliper was noticed to be bent after a tire rotation in-between the 99,miles and the 108,milesWhen we spoke to another mechanic the caliper could be caused by poor handling of the vehicle during repairs vs“environmental causes”Along with my son’s car the wheel bearing is questionableWe are not asking for anything in regards to these issuesWe have chalked these up as stupid mistakes on our part for taking their answer of “coincidence” as acceptableWhat I am truly concerned and upset about is our suburban now because there are no more “coincidental” occurrencesYou should not be taking vehicles in for oil changes and coming out every time with issuesThe settlement which only includes what should have already been settled on was free tire rotations at their Eau Claire dealership for the life of my warranty which is 60,miles (replaced at 99,miles)If they do not want to offer this any longer then I am asking for more tire rotations at the cost of $plus tax which is the cost at another facilityI also am asking for $for the cost of repairs for our suburban which we are having fixed at another facilityThe suburban is kept in our garage with a finished floor and has never leakedAfter having the oil changed the suburban later that day was found to have oil on floor of garageMy husband called and brought it in that same day with the mechanic stating that there was a bad filterThere was no mention during oil change nor after changing the “bad” filter of any other leaksHence, after bringing it in again after noting a leak on floor of garage on Monday (wasn’t driven over the weekend) my husband again called and brought it back to dealership where they stated then it was leaking from oil pan and axle sealMy husband never stated that the axle seals were replaced at Farm & Fleet it was the wheel bearingsThis is clearly an error on their part and feel it needs to be settled onSo it would be a total of $to settle.

At our dealership, we value all of our customers and strive to ensure a surprise free vehicle ownership experience. My team spoke with Mr*** regarding his concern about the faulty dome lamp. Mr*** was disappointed with Fiat Chrysler, not Chilson Corner Motors. Mr***
did not understand why the dome lamp bulbs were not able to be replaced and also how the dome lamp sockets became deformed due to heat. His main frustration was with the vehicle manufacturer regarding the limitations to repair the dome lamp component, the only way to remedy the situation is to replace the entire assembly. I certainly understand Mr***' frustration and can relate to the fact that many vehicle repairs now require part/component replacement instead of repair and in many situations this drives up the cost to the consumer. If there is anything we can do to help communicate Mr***' frustration to the manufacturer, I would be glad to offer my assistance

the first and only service repair on the vehicle.  The cost for this repair is $58.25.  This oil change process is the same as the one listed above, except we use full synthetic oil instead of our I feel as though we have offered a fair settlement and I am willing to write a check to the customer for $119.60 for the 8 tire rotations left on the van at the price of $14.95 we would charge in our shop.  I respectfully disagree with their opinion that we caused the axle seal to leak on the Suburban with 230,000 miles.  We had only seen the Suburban for service on 1 time for an oil change.  During the return visit,  I personally inspected the vehicle while it was on the lift and noticed a large amount of fluid residue that had accumulated on the area surrounding the right hand output seal for the front differential and on the left hand side of the oil pan.  The residue was a dark, dusty material that had accumulated where the oil pan met the engine block, clearly showing signs of some fluid seepage in that area.  We cleaned it off while it was on the hoist and simply advised the customer to monitor the two situations.  In my professional opinion based on the mileage on the Suburban, the amount of accumulation of residue and fluid seepage would be considered near normal.  [redacted] Chilson Corner Motors of Cadott LLC[redacted]

Review: I bought a Car from the Ex Owner of Chilsons Cadott, WI. the Car was originally bought from there in 2011, I went there to have some repair done about $700 worth in Rear Heated Seats and a Switch, and man right away I got a Very Rude Service Manager named [redacted] Prueher, I ask if I can have a Loaner Car and he smirked and said "We only give out loaners if you bought the car here" then he would not give me a copy of the estimate because the other dealer was paying Half of it and it's his deal he said? The big kicker was when my dealer quoted me the price for the repairs, and this was the price they quoted him, well apprantly they miscommunicated or reneged on the $600 it was suppose to be including a switch. I was told that my dealer was given a dealer discount, so when I seen the estimate finally they were charging full Price for the parts MSRP as listed on the internet was $88 per pad, and they were charging $125? and on the net I could get them for $35 so where is this dealer discount. I never said anything until I asked if I could use my 10% off Parts and Labor Coupon they had posted on their website along with Mopars website, [redacted] said no because he already gave a discount to my dealer, it was then that I asked where is the discount if they are $88 MSRP and I seen I could buy them for $35 and your charging my dealer and I $125?. This [redacted] actually when laid into me yelling why do I have to talk about your car 3 times just today? I said well it was not me, I just called just the once now. I then countered and said you were not giving us a discount anyway and it is not right not to let me use the coupon. and I feel he treated me like a dog on a chain and he actd like he was some kind of High School Jock for petes sake. Then the next time I needed a Clad moulding Clip, I was willing to order teh originals which are colored same as car, well the parts guy is also relative of the dealer at Chilsons and he also has no personalty for customer service, stated he could maybe just get a few and it would cost less than having to buy the whole pack, mind you his idea not mine, well when I called to see if he got any he said he got them ;locally from their old body shop but I would have to paint them, I said I can paint them as long as they are the right part..Well when I tried them out after paint, they are not the right part they are not even long enough, I called and stated I am worried ow cause once in these dont come out and now what can I do, I said you obviously gave me the wrong part, [redacted] the parts guy said he cant do a thing, and I said you sell me the wrong part now tell me to bad so sad? I think you ought to figure out how to get it out and order the right part this time, he said he would see what he could do, well I my wife was actually able to remove it and I told him that I got it out with her help and to order the right part this time. He said ok, then I went to call for a $19.77 Oil change and I was told they would not service my vehicle and they had the right to do this.. I really Really Cannot believe this...REALLY?? are you kidding me? DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this place, I'm sure they are happy to sell anyone a new car, but their customer service sucks and these 2 people [redacted] and [redacted] do not belong in any customer Service type job..Desired Settlement: Well I still have my warranty repairs that are good for 1 year on my Back Seat Heated seats repairs and with them refusing my business now and also my emails and phone calls I have concerns on how I am suppose to get warranty work done now..

Response:

I am writing regarding [redacted] desired settlement.

We installed heated seat elements in the rear of the vehicle and a heated seat switch that was not illuminating. All of the work was authorized by [redacted] Deutschlander of Thorp Auto World who asked us to repair the vehicle. We were able to resolve all of the concerns Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] had with the vehicle and the repaired items were functioning according to manufacturer specifications. During the repair, we installed genuine Mopar parts in the vehicle and these parts come with a 1 year / 12,000 mile warranty that is good at any Chrysler dealership nationwide should the installed parts fail in that time frame.

We appreciate the opportunity to work with you and are always glad to help bring resolution if there is a misunderstanding or miscommunication.

Review: We purchased a vehicle in 2010 from Chilson with an extended warranty. Four times after having work done on the vehicle something else happened. The first time it was wheel bearings after having tires replaced less than 2 weeks, second time it was an improperly installed tire that almost came off after having tires rotated less than 1 week, third a EGA filter went out after having transmission fluids, coolant, and oil changed less than one week, and fourth was a bent caliper after having my tires replaced noticed at next tire rotation. My husband then had brought my son's car in just for an oil change and his wheel bearing went out one day later. He then brought in his suburban for an oil change and later that afternoon there was oil noted in our driveway so he brought it back in and they "fixed it". He went to go use it again on Monday and notice a puddle of oil in our garage. He took it back & they stated it wasn't their fault & felt it had been leaking for a long time because it was wet. Our garage has a finished floor and there has never been any leaks prior to this. Our suburban now needs a new axle seal? They refuse to honor anything and claim that all of the above issues are coincidence. We spoke with the owner who still claims that they are not at fault and will not do anything for us.Desired Settlement: Three things, suburban fixed to pre-appointment condition with axle seal repaired at Chilson's expense, saturn wheel bearing repaired at Chilson's expense, and the ability for me to go to a different location to get my free tire rotations.
