I understand the Chima's towing company has a contract with chp , that's why I was told I had to have a free tow to safety with this company. I was already on the phone with [redacted] the company that I pay monthly for free towing , I informed the officer my tow truck was already on the way he told me I had to cancel my tow truck because they provide a free tow to safety since my accident was on the freeway , I asked the officer if it was totally free because I can't afford a tow when I have 100 mile free towing with my [redacted] account , he informed me I had to use their free service and it was a free tow , they moved my car on to the tow bed when I got In the tow truck I asked the man who drives the tow truck if it was really a free tow because I already told the chp officer I don't have money to pay for towing I have free [redacted], he said no it's 210.00 so I got out of the tow truck and walked back to the chp car, I told him what the tow truck driver said and he informed me that it's a free tow to safety the tow truck driver got out of the car and told me again it's 210.00 I told him to take my car off the tow truck I will wait for my free tow , the officer informed me if I wasn't going to corporate I can get in the back of his car , I didn't want to be arrested for requesting a free tow when I pay monthly for it , the officer told me I didn't have to pay any fees to move my car off the first exit to wait for my tow company to assist me not on the freeway , I told the tow truck driver to drop me off at the first parking lot or on the side of the road off the first exit that was 100 ft from the accident , he told me okay. I got back in the tow truck and when we got off the exit I said please drop me off here so my company can pick me up this is a safe location he told me I have to pay 210.00 for him to drop my car off , I informed him what the chp officer had just told both of us and he said no , I called my mom told her the situation I put the phone on speaker for her to be able to ask the tow truck driver what was going on he snatched my phone out of my hand told my mom I have to pay for the tow to his lot and tossed my phone back on the seat , I informed the driver that he was driving and may not grab my phone out of my hands I have it on speaker for you to hear , I called my insurance officer and told him what the driver was doing that I felt I was being kidnapped and held against my cars will, he informed me that I was not getting the correct service . I again asked the tow truck driver to drop me off to safety I told you from the begging I didn't have money to pay for a full tow . He wouldn't respond to me . His tow yard was nothing but 10 minutes from where the accident had occurred , we pulled in I told the tow truck driver do not take my car into your storage lot I do not have the money for pay for storage my tow truck is already on it's way to get me and my car , he pulled over in front of his business , his coworker is his son , it's a family owned business told me I had to give my credit card and ID for insurance purposes only so I did , I had him talk to my mom and tell her what's going on because I wasn't supposed to be taken to their tow yard , while they are talking I look behind me and see them moving my car on to their storage lot I yelled and said I didn't give you any authorization to move my car I'm not paying for your storage fee , the lady at the front desk called for my attention and told me they close in 15 minutes I have to pay 210.00 right now or they will keep my car over night ,I informed her what the chp officer told me, that I was only supposed to be a towed to safety she told me no . I felt so taken advantage of being a young girl , I was just involved in a car accident and nobody was telling me what was going on or why I was being forced to pay for a tow I didn't ask for and why my car was being held hostage , I was crying and so mad at this point I told them do what ever the heck you have to do to give me my car back out of your lot my tow truck is pulling up , I had told my [redacted] tow truck driver what had happened because he asked why I was so upset and crying , when I told him what happened he told me they scammed me. He had pulled up to the front desk and asked them why they charged me. The owner of the building put his hands up and didn't say anything . This company is totally unprofessional and has NO customer service. I didn't feel safe with the driver snatching my phone from my hand while he was driving he wouldn't explain to me, my mom or my insurance officer why he wasn't following chp's statement. I wanted to call the police when he told me I had to pay 210.00 in 15 minutes or I'd have to come back Tomorrowto get my car because I was only supposed to be taken to a safe location not his tow yard they basically took complete advantage of me being a young girl alone with a damaged car . A company shouldn't close when they are assisting someone. Still they had no Patients, no concern and no intentions to help me . The next day I called the chp office and gave my statement they told me they will get back to me with in two weeks . I am going to go get the police report and make another complaint to the police station about their contracted services being wrongfully fulfilled once the chp officer is out of sight.
