They called to ask about cleaning our chimney. We had them come out but were told the chimney liner was damaged and needed a new stainless steel liner at the cost of $ 1500.00. We decided if it was unsafe we would have it done. They were very busy but could fit us in the next day at 8 am. The next am I researched and found that they were not licensed or insured. When they got here I asked for proof of insurance and license but they were unable to supply it so we did not let them on our roof. We called another company for the work but their inspection proved nothing was needed but new flashing on the chimney and a new cap and they would paint the chimney. All for $ 300.00. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. unless you have money to throw away.

Review: Chimco installed a new chimney liner at my residence in ** on 7/**/2014, of which the job was paid in-full at the time of service. On 12/*/2014, during my annual furnace maintenance, it was observed that the 6" reducer at the furnace outlet is not physically attached to the liner installed by Chimco on 7/**/14 although my paid invoice includes a statement indicating that it was connected/attached. I immediately called Chimco (###-###-####) to get this addressed and an appointment was scheduled for Tues 12/*/2014. I left work 2hrs early so I could meet the Chimco Technician on the afternoon of 12/*/14 but no one showed; I checked both my home phone and cell phone for a message but none was received. I called back thinking there was a mistake and rescheduled my appointment for Friday 12/**/2014; again no one showed up and no phone messages were received from Chimco. I called again and rescheduled my appointment to Saturday 1/**/2015; no one showed up and no phone messages were received from Chimco. Again I called to reschedule an appointment for Thursday 1/**/2015; no one showed up and no phone messages were received from Chimco. The above doesn't include the phone calls and messages left by my wife which were never returned. A recent attempt was made on 3/**/2015; a representative from the ** office actually called me and we agreed on a service call on 3/**/2015 only to experience the same result - no show, no call. I have made a total of 6 different appointments with the Chimco office in [redacted] only to experience no-shows without the courtesy of a call. On 1/**/2015 I made a complaint via the company website (www.chimcousa.com/contact/) and although was I contacted initially via email on 1/**/2015 I still have not found resolution to an 'issue' which was described to me (by representatives from Chimco) as a "simple task". My calls are no longer answered and the email contact no longer returns my messages. I have been patient and attempted MANY times to work with this company but have not been taken seriously.Desired Settlement: This issue has continued for almost 9-months! I have tried to personally deal with Chimco only to be deceived and not taken seriously. I have wasted time including taking off early from work on 2 occasions to meet the Technician for a scheduled appointment. This is no way to treat a paying customer who only requested to receive what I was invoiced for. I feel Chimco hopes I'll give up, instead of coming-out to 'fix' the problem and satisfy the customer.Refund

Review: Had a chimney liner placed in one flue of our chimney and 4 new caps placed on the top in December of 2014. Both the liner and caps were installed with lifetime warranties. In February 2015, 2 caps blew off of the roof and landed in our yard- evidence of poor placement/ not secure. Additionally large concrete looking debris has been falling into our fireplace where the new liner was placed. I do not know if this is related to the new liner or not but when I asked them to check it out, they agreed it was concerning. I initially contacted Chimco in February and no one answered. I was unable to leave messages because "their mailbox was full". I finally got through in March and was told that they would definitely come back and fix the caps and check the liner when they were in my area the first week of April. I was told they would call me to schedule an appointment for that time. I did not hear from them and finally called them again on April * for an appointment. After several left messages, none of which were returned, I got through and was given an appointment window of 12-2pm on Saturday April **. I was also told I would receive a call letting me know 20 minutes before the technician would arrive. I was home, I was by the phone. NO call, and no one showed up. I called again on Monday April ** and left messages. And again on Tuesday April ** and Wednesday April **. I finally got a live person on Thursday April **. I was given a new service window of Friday April ** between 2 and 4 pm. I was told again that I would get a call confirming the call prior to the technician's arrival. Again, no call, no show on the appointment. I called multiple times that day, trying to get through to the company to make sure they did not forget. I started the cycle of calling and leaving messages again and finally got through again on Tuesday April **. I spoke to a couple people through my own persistence because still not one call was made to me, only by me. I was given a third appointment for Wednesday April ** from 2-4pm. I was quite surprised when I received a call from Chimco on Wednesday April ** at 11am confirming that a technician was en route to my house and could be there at 1pm. I agreed to push the appointment time up. 20 minutes later I received a second call from the company stating that they were not coming and had no definitive time slot in which they could come to my house. Several calls later, by me, I made a fourth appointment for Thursday April ** between 4pm and 5pm. At the time of making this fourth appointment, I stated that the day and time slot was a hardship for me but I would take it if it meant that the work would be done. I was told by [redacted] of Chimco that he personally guarunteed that the appointment would be kept and that if not I was entitled to a full refund of the original work amount $2020.00 from December. Today is Thursday April **. I was home and by my phone at the appointed times. No call, no show. I placed several calls, with no answer and left several very upset messagesDesired Settlement: I wish for the work to be done, but I have no confidence that that will actually happen. I could have another chimney company fix the caps and inspect the flue liner and send the bill to Chimco, or Chimco can refund me the original purchase amount since they are unwilling to stand by their lifetime warranties.

Review: I received an unsolicited call from Chimco offering to clean my chimney for $40.00. When they arrived, the chimney was inspected and I was told that it would need major repairs beyond cleaning. They said it would cost $2,000.00 for the liner and $1,200.00 for the chimney repair outside. I paid $3,200.00 for the job. No repairs were made and only a liner and cap were installed. The liner was not connected to the furnace.Desired Settlement: We are requesting full refund for an unsafe and incomplete job and misleading claim. We are willing to return the 18 feet of stainless steel lining and the chimney cap that was not installed correctly. Several different contractors inspected the work and found it improperly installed.

Review: Chimco called and offered to install a chimney cap on our chimney. After 6 months it blew off due to wind and did damage to my car. I understand they can't do anything about that although I do believe that should not have happened after 6 months. There is a lifetime warranty on the chimney cap. I have called them 15 times. I was even told on on occasion on March ** that they would be out in a week to fix. Still nothing. I was told on 4/** at 1:22 that they would call me back in 10 mins. Still nothing. I paid them for their service. The statement/receipt that I got back form them has a Lifetime warranty on it. I would like this obligation fullfilled or a refund of the $190 I paid them on October * 2014.Desired Settlement: Refund
