Mr [redacted] complains that he is “forced” to accept electronic statements when he logs into the Synovus credit card website, and that the form does not allow him to decline We do attempt to get our customers to enroll in the e-statement program as it is a more fast and efficient way to get the customers’ account payment information into their hands The e-statement enrollment page that pops up upon login does in fact have an option “ask me later” that will bypass the page Additionally, customers may simply click on the desired page on the left side of the webpage to bypass the e-statement enrollment page See attached However, we will consider making changes to the number of times and frequency in which the e-statement enrollment request page is displayed in the future We hope this addresses Mr [redacted] concerns [redacted] Card Services

Dear Mr***, (Revdex.com
Case#***)
We have reviewed the issue
that you brought to our attention and would like to share our findings with
you
In your complaint, you stated
arrangements were made to repay a $charged-off balance and that Columbus
Bank and Trust would delete all information from all credit reporting agencies
within days following receipt of payment.
Based on our research, two
accounts in the name of *** *** were charged off; $on November 1,
and $on March 1, and both amounts remain unpaid. The bank has been given no reason to believe
the charge-offs are inaccurate and the complaint does not contain any facts to
provide a basis for believing the negative credit reporting to have been
inaccurate.
When
a charged-off account is paid in full, the credit bureaus are updated to
reflect the account was paid, however, the record is not removed all
together. The bank is obligated to make
accurate reports according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)If you have
additional information regarding your complaint we will certainly review it and
change our response as necessary
Thank
you for choosing to do business with Columbus Bank and Trust. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you
Thank
you,

Columbus Bank and Trust is in receipt of the complaint submitted by Mr. [redacted].  The following response is provided.
Our goal is to provide the highest level of service to our customers as well as those who are not our customers and may have a reason to be in our branches.  In mid-2012 we implemented a fee for non-customer cashing “on-us” checks.  The fee is a tiered structure, based on the amount of the check.  The fee to cash a check in the amount of $0 to $25 is free, $25.01 to $100.00 is a $2.00 fee, and $100.01 and up is charged a $5.00 fee.  We believe this is a reasonable fee for providing this service, and our team members are instructed to advise the non-customer of this fee prior to cashing the check.
Even though this fee does not directly impact our customers, it is included on our schedule of fees and charges provided to our customers at account opening and periodically thereafter.
If we can be of further assistance, please let me know.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
As long as there is a charge to cash a CB&T check at CB&T, I won't be satisfied.

I know this because I've tested it.
If I login once a day for a week, the site will ask me each and everyday to accept electronic statements, even if I select "Ask me later".

absolutely horrible bank. they take advantage of anyone who banks with them. for instance, it takes 4-5 days for transactions to post, so you think you have more money than you actually do, and overdraft your account. each transaction you pay a $30 overdraft fee, non negotiable. another example, I cancelled automatic payments on my end, and they didnt. they still pulled over $1000 of funds that weren't there. so instead of going into their system and stopping payments on these accounts, they require a $35 cancellation fee per each transaction. I have talked to multiple personel on this issue and it still hasnt been resolved. every situation I have ran into with cb&t has been non productive and ended worse then I was before. customer service is horrible. dealing with anyone from cb&t is not easy. I put in a request to speak with a manager, and was not granted. still havent heard from a manager.

We do attempt to get our customers to enroll in the e-statement program as it is a more fast and efficient way to get the customers’ account payment information into their hands.
The e-statement enrollment page that pops up upon login does in fact have an option “ask me later” that will bypass the page.  Additionally, customers may simply click on the desired page on the left side of the webpage to bypass the e-statement enrollment page.  See attached.
However, we will consider making changes to the number of times and frequency in which the e-statement enrollment request page is displayed in the future.  We hope this addresses Mr. [redacted] concerns.
