I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have...

determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

Monday, March 24  : Not having heard anything from Chip Off the Old Block since I had written to Revdex.com, I concluded that they had no intention of doing anything. I then dug up most of the weeds myself because they were getting out of control.

Tuesday, March 25lh: (Probably after they received Revdex.com's reminder) [redacted] called me and said they would respray and later send someone to clean up the weeds. I informed her that I had already cleaned up the weeds, but still needed the respraying. We made an appointment for the next day.

Wednesday, March 26th: The technician began spraying, and I could see through the window that he was not spraying the whole yard. He was moving around spraying in spots, but not covering even half the yard. After he left I could see what had been sprayed because the gravel that had been sprayed was yellow, but the large majority of it was its usual color.

Thursday, March 28th: I spoke to [redacted], and he made an appointment for the next day ("probably before noon".) to spray the whole yard.

Friday, March 29th: The technician showed up about three o:clock pm and pulled the few weeds that were left after I had gotten rid of most of them., and did not spray at all. I told him that he was supposed to spray, and he said he had already sprayed two days before. I said that he had not sprayed the whole yard, and he insisted that he had sprayed the whole yard.

I give up!

In reference to # [redacted] we made contact with client, went out three time to property at no charge  to resolve issue. We have done all that we can and explained to client about weed control and how to do maintenance.

Review: At 4:00pm on September 4, 2015, I came home to notice my large Mesquite tree had 40% of its shade canopy cut completely off. I contacted my HOA, who had contracted Chip Off The Old Block to cut and trim trees in the neighborhood. I confirmed with my HOA that my tree was NOT on the list of trees to be trimmed. They provided me the arborist name ([redacted] and his phone number. I called the phone number for [redacted] and left a voice message. I then proceeded to call Chip Off The Old Block directly by looking up their phone number online. I asked to speak to the manager, who was identified as [redacted], but was informed he was gone for the day. I was then connected to [redacted] who I then informed of my tree getting cut. [redacted] looked up the job scheduled for my community and confirmed that my house was NOT on the scheduled list of trees to be trimmed. [redacted] told me that there would be no charge for the trimming (which I never ordered) and he would do a little research on what happened and get back to me. I never received a return phone call from [redacted]. On September 5th, I received a voicemail from [redacted] apologizing for the incorrect tree trimming and he stated he was told from his office to cut the tree. I never received a call back from [redacted] as of 11 days later on September 15th, I called Chip Off The Old Block again and was greeted by a lady on the phone. I asked to speak to [redacted] (as I understood he was the manager). The lady said [redacted] was out doing quotes and wasn't available. I then provided my information to her and explained the reason for my call. 2 days later on September 17th at 11:55am, I missed a call and had a voicemail from [redacted] (Not [redacted]) that said I had left a message with the front desk and he was calling me back. It was very clear he had no memory of my tree or our prior call with pending follow up. I returned this call at 12:21pm only to leave another voicemail. I never received a return phone. I then proceeded to call [redacted] again on September 18th at 9:50am only to leave another voicemail. I have not heard back.

I have made many attempts to try and contact Chip Off The Old Block and haven't been successful to even talk to anyone about resolving my issues. I'm now requesting that Revdex.com assist in the matter.

I have personally put my own time and effort into trimming the tree in question for many years to preserve its ability to provide shaded parking. To see this tree get butchered for no reason because of poor communication within a company is a disgrace. To cause even more pain by not being able to simply talk to anyone at Chip Off The Old Block about it is worse.

I have picture documentation of the before and after of my tree to demonstrate the amount of true damage that occurred.Desired Settlement: Explanation of communication/process breakdown within the company to identify fault.

Published written procedure on how to avoid future casualties for other customers including signed documents on job work orders prior to execution.

Replacement of tree.

Ok, I'm excited about tree trimming. I want people to know my story. I had a large pine that was getting very dangerous and needed to be cut down soon before it came down on it's own and took out my and my neighbors garages. I also had some other trees that needed tending to. After 4 estimates from different companies and because of my very limited income and physical handicaps, I had to go with the most reasonable. I am so very happy that I did. My neighborhood is an old historic one, and our trees are mostly large and established. My neighbors Silk Oak had already let loose a branch onto my garage roof, I watched his people take out his tree, it took them 4 days and there was a lot of damage done to his property and my fence. Being the most reasonable, I chose to go with Chip Off The Old Block. [redacted], the man that gave me the estimate was a very pleasant, understanding and polite man. Everyone showed up when promised. It took that fantastic crew of 4 about 3 hours to take down a pine of about 80 ft. knuckle a very large branchy Chinaberry, and trim up a 60 ft. California Palm. Even with me on my scooter getting in the way at times. I hated to see that Pine go, my daughter had asked for it one Christmas when she was 8 yrs. old. (She's over 40 now.) The crew were all so nice and so very efficient. They never even bumped the close wires or dropped anything where they shouldn't have. They were worried about the safety of that gnarled pine, but they did it with me praying for the one trimmer most of the time. Watching them work so quickly and efficiently compared with the company my neighbor used was a difference of day and night. You could tell these people KNEW what they were doing. They even gave me the pieces and pinecones I asked for. I LOVE this company, I'm so happy I held on to the flyer in the mail. They are my tree people for life and I recommend them to EVERYONE!

Review: I am lodging a complaint against the above mentioned company.

In January of this year, they sprayed our front and back yards for weed prevention. About one month later, it became apparent that they had missed a lot of spots, because weeds grew back in many different places, mostly in front, but also in back.

On February 25,1 called and spoke to a person who identified herself as [redacted], and explained the situation. She told me that they would send someone over to look at it and then schedule an appointment to redo it.

The next day I received a call from someone who identified himself as [redacted]. He told me that weeds were growing back all over because of all the hot weather and rain(?), and there was nothing they could do except redo it at my expense. This was before March 1st, when there was any rain to speak of.

This is total b.s. In the first place there are more weeds growing back in our front yard than in the back. Am I to understand that there was more rain and hot weather in our front yard than in the back? In the second place, this has never happened before in less time than one year after it was sprayed. This includes summertime when the weather was a lot hotter than it was this past month. I resent having my intelligence insulted this way.Desired Settlement: This company has given us excellent service for the last five or six years. My guess is that they have changed management in the last year, which is their business. I want this work redone at no expense to me, and that is my business.
