I signed a contract with chiroplanet.com for one of their cookie cutter web sites Things went well, and they actually assisted me in becoming adept at working on the site myself and making some changes I had a month contractDuring the contract time, I actually closed my practice and moved into a group practiceI let the web page continue for about a year, and then called to have it cancelledTo my surprise, I was one month too latein other words, I had let the contract "auto renew", and I was locked in for another entire year Sure enough, in the fine print of the contract, it states that if the contract is not cancelled days before renewal, it continues for another monthsno way out I bit the bullet and paid for another year I then called them and told them that I wanted to cancel, and they informed me that I had to let them know in writingAgain, there it is, in the fine printI said I would send a letterThey said it would have to be certified I did this, and they told me that actually I owe one additional month of service beyond the contract signed datewhy? because the web site didn't "go live" until one month after contractSo, a two year agreement ended up being a four year and one month agreement, and required two attempts and an extra month's payment to get out of! Moral of the story is: It is easy to get into business with them, but very difficult to get out of it I personally hate contracts that renew every yearBe careful with what you sign Make sure that you mark through the "auto renewal" aspect of the contract before you sign

I signed a contract with chiroplanet.com for one of their cookie cutter web sites. Things went well, and they actually assisted me in becoming adept at working on the site myself and making some changes. I had a 24 month contract. During the contract time, I actually closed my practice and moved into a group practice. I let the web page continue for about a year, and then called to have it cancelled. To my surprise, I was one month too late... in other words, I had let the contract "auto renew", and I was locked in for another entire year. Sure enough, in the fine print of the contract, it states that if the contract is not cancelled 30 days before renewal, it continues for another 12 months... no way out. I bit the bullet and paid for another year... I then called them and told them that I wanted to cancel, and they informed me that I had to let them know in writing. Again, there it is, in the fine print. I said I would send a letter. They said it would have to be certified. I did this, and they told me that actually I owe one additional month of service beyond the contract signed date... why? because the web site didn't "go live" until one month after contract. So, a two year agreement ended up being a four year and one month agreement, and required two attempts and an extra month's payment to get out of!
