Chris and his staff are very professional and very courteous! We have had this company about five or six times within the last seven years and they have done a superb job! They have painted the inside of our house and performed a great job! Just recently they have power washed, sanded and stained our deck! We are extremely satisfied with this company! Will always call them back for additional work we will have!

CHJ Painting and Remodeling has been working at our home for the last years They began working in the city, doing repairs on our condo building common areas They also painted our condo with outstanding results When we moved to a single family home, we had them refinish our basement, re-plaster and paint a two story stair hall, and install new light fixtures When we couldn't get our curtain rods installed in our old plaster walls, Chris's team came and professionally installed heavy double rods for us on a big bay window They made sure to do it correctly - no cutting corners They installed a heavy mirror that same time Additionally, they built a new deck, repaired our front porch, and pressure washed and sealed an old wood fence that now looks like new! Chris and his team are very professional and courteous Chris always responds to requests right away, gives detailed estimates in writing, and explains what he feels is the best way to do things for your budget We continually call them back to our home for renovations and construction projects as they come up Their price is always very reasonable and they are nice to work with Give them a call for your next project

We have used Chris and his staff for painting and other projects since moving to Evanston years ago based on the recommendation of our daughterHe has done interior and exterior painting, installed a cork floor in a den and floating shelves in a bedroom that was challenging because of an imperfect surfaceEach fall we have walked around our house together to identify areas of paint that needed touch up to prevent progressive damage, frequently requiring high ladder workAll work has been done with care, including clean up, and I plan to continue to use Chris when the need arises

We used CHJ Paining to paint our interior downstairs at the time that we put the house on the market They were quick to provide an estimate and did an excellent job in the painting Over the years that we lived in the house, we used various other painting firms and none cleaned us as well nor did as good a paint job
We then used them to paint the condo into which we moved They came in below our budget and again did excellent work They went out of their way to help us with other non paint tasks that we needed done at no extra cost I really appreciated their ethics when they declined to bid on a difficult flooring job suggesting that we should use someone that specializes in flooring We recommended CHJ to a friend who raved about their cleanliness and work quality

We are very satisfied with CHJ Painting and would highly recommend them for any future projects to everyone. They are reasonably priced for the quality of their work and very professional. What stood out was Chris's knowledge and recommendations as to the color and materials scheme. The work they put in on our basement has exceeded our expectations...words simply do not give it justice knowing how it looked before. Most important the esthetics that finally tied everything together from the color and shape of floor tiles and wood trimming to the contrasting colors made the basement feel positive, warm and lively. Nothing, but positive experience.

I have used CHJ twice, and both experiences were very positive. The quality of work and professionalism are excellent. Chris is responsive to calls for estimates and is always prompt for appointment and scheduled work times. CHJ Painting & Remodeling did the most amazing job at my condo in Wrigleyville!

Chris and his guy installed crown moulding, patched cracked dry wall in my ceiling and wall, put in new wood window sills, tuck pointed my interior brick wall and painted all of the patchwork, crown moulding and my entire master bathroom in two days. Two days!

And the work is spectacular!!

Chris is a total professional. He put drop cloths down throughout my condo so as to not walk on my hardwood floors or area carpet, he covered every work area with drop clothes and plastic to protect my bed, TV, countertops, etc. and even vacuumed out/cleaned my bathroom ceiling fan. Oh, he also put drop clothes on my deck to cover where he was cutting the wood to keep the OUTSIDE clean too. I've never heard of that.

They arrived at 8am and left at 5pm both days. On time and on budget as promised.

Oh, and Chris is a super nice guy too. Very friendly, easy to talk to and a great listener with creative solutions/answers.

I cannot recommend CHJ Painting & Remodeling enough. Double thumbs up and I'll definitely be having them back for further work in the future!

We recently had our new condo completely repainted by CHJ Painting and Remodeling and are extremely happy with the results. There was also a lot of work that needed to be done repairing the walls. The building is about 100 years old, so the walls have been through a lot! There were several holes from different wiring projects (mounted tv, surround sound, internet connectivity, etc), not to mention cracks from time, and the wear and tear of how many previous owners!
From the original quote visit, Chris was friendly and professional. He pointed out areas that could use repair that I hadn’t noticed yet. He also gave a lot of great advice on how he would approach the project. We also had a pretty tight timeline as we wanted to have the whole unit finished before we moved in, and he let us know that he would be able to finish on schedule. We got the official quote very soon after the visit and it was very competitive and affordable compared to a few other places we checked.
The repair & painting process went pretty quickly and Chris was great to worth with through it all. He would call us with updates every couple of days. He was also very understanding of all of the rules of our condo building.
We have now moved in and we love it! We would use him again for any similar projects in the future and recommend him to anyone that needs painting or wall repair.
