Revdex.com,I went to the customers residence on October 30, I inspected the leak area in the back of the house which was an addition to the homeThe addition was a flat roofThe flat roof in the back was never part of the contract to be replacedI addressed the client, and explained that Choby Construction never replaced that part of the roof, and that it was never part of the contractThey agreedI offered to repair the leak because of their troubles trying to get in touch with me, free of chargeThe client said they already had someone coming to replace the flat roof On that same day the client showed me some tar that got on their siding, and that was from Choby ConstructionWe took off the tar, watered and cleaned down the areaIf you have any questions please call or e-mail me.Mike B [redacted] Sent from my iPad

Revdex.com:
I am accepting the business’s response, but only because I do not want them to show up unexpectedly at my house againThey were unprofessional and accusatoryThey agreed that they placed the flashing on the flat roof, and offered to fix itI did not want them to ‘fix’ the leak because they were not going to be able to fix it properlyThey had previously shingled over my bathroom vent leading to mold and a remodelI would rather have a refund or reinbursement, but I do not wish to be bullied by this company

Revdex.com,I went to the customers residence on October 30, 2017. I inspected the leak area in the back of the house which was an addition to the home. The addition was a flat roof. The flat roof in the back was never part of the contract to be replaced. I addressed the client, and...

explained that Choby Construction never replaced that part of the roof, and that it was never part of the contract. They agreed. I offered to repair the leak because of their troubles trying to get in touch with me, free of charge. The client said they already had someone coming to replace the flat roof.  On that same day the client showed me some tar that got on their siding, and that was from Choby Construction. We took off the tar, watered and cleaned down the area. If you have any questions please call or e-mail me.Mike B[redacted]

Did not complete contracted work. Repairs done were poorly done. Would not return calls. Should not be allowed to have a license to operate a business. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! A waste of money! As with others who have submitted reviews to this company, I would also like an apology and reimbursement for unfinished work.

Review: I signed a contract in April 2013 and paid them $2100.00 down payment on a $3500.00 roof replacement for my garage. I have repeatedly tried to contact them regarding when my roof would be done and I receive no return phone calls. They finally contacted me at the end of July and told me they would be there in 2 weeks to do the job. I have not heard from them since and I have repeatedly left messages on their voicemail with no return calls. It is now November, my roof is not done.Desired Settlement: I would like the return of my $2100.00 deposit that was cashed in check #2389 on 4/30/2013 since the services have not been delivered and I have no communication from the company.

Review: I work for a nonprofit neighborhood development organization called the [redacted]. We provide home repair assistance to homeowners. June 16, 2014 we contract with Choby Construction to replace the roof, repair soffit and fascia and re-install gutters and downspouts on a home owned by [redacted] at [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] did not complete the work. He neglected to reinstall a downspout he had removed leaving a hole in the soffit. Unaware that he did not replace the downspout - a job that would take less than 30 minutes, we paid Mr. [redacted] in full. When Ms. S[redacted] complained to me that the work was not complete, I called Mr. [redacted], several times, and several times, Mr. [redacted] agreed to return and complete the work. After a while, he stopped answering the phone when either Ms. [redacted] or I would call. I called from different numbers, and again he promised to come back and complete the job. Eventually he refused to answer all calls from me and did not return calls. I wrote him a letter December 16 asking him again to make the repair. He did not respond to the letter.

Now birds and other animals have taken up residence in the soffit. They have gained assess through the hole in the soffit.Desired Settlement: We want him to finish the job and clean up the mess from birds who have built a nest in the soffit opening.. If that does not occur, we ask for compensation in the amount it will take to have another contractor finish the job.

Review: Hired Choby Construction to tear off and replace a porch roof at [redacted] which leaks. Paid $850 in full for work to be done while we were on vacation came home and work was not done. Winter came early so waited to spring. contracter text and promised to do in april of 2015 . To date work is still not done.

Also needs to repair Shingles on our home roof which he had replaced a few years agoDesired Settlement: Want return of $850 . I really want fixed but cannot believe or depend on contracter at this point. Also want my home shingles replaced

Review: I signed a contract with Choby Construction for a new roof the Fall of 2012. After several months, the job was finally started. The clean up was not completed as stated in the contract. Nails and shingles were scattered all over the yard. The gutters were full of nails and debris from the roofing process. My yard had 3 large holes from their equipment. The sodding on the house was splattered with an oil like substance. Choby refused to clean and fix the yard until I involved the building inspector of Erie. During the course of 2013 into 2014, I noticed the paint peeling in my bathroom. Black mold was also present in the bathroom. After contacting another contractor, we found Choby had shingled over my bathroom vent. The air was not flowing and the moisture was collecting for 1+ years. The roof was fixed by this new contractor, the vent was replaced in the bathroom, and the walls in the bathroom are currently stripped down to the drywall. Choby has yet to return any of my phone calls.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology along with reimbursement for the bathroom repair.
