If I could give this company ZERO STARS I wouldI spoke with Josh over the course of a two month periodI ended up having to change my moving date times due to my lease at my new apartmentI finalized my moving date for August 8th from 11am to 12pm and that date was agreed upon by both partiesMy finalized date of August 8th was agreed upon weeks prior to my moving dateCome August 7th, I still did not hear from Josh so I decided to call him to confirm my moving date of August 8th in which he assured me that everything was scheduleOn August 8th at 12pm I did not get a phone call...nothingI call Josh several time but he did not pick up his phoneI ended up calling from my sister's phone in which he "all of a sudden answered." He told me that my moving date was for August 11th and that I did not know what I was talking aboutHe did not want to owned up to his mistake in which I told him that I have emails between us where we both agreed about the current moving date and that he breached our contractHe said that he would get two guys to come move my stuff and that I should be glad that they did not charge me $for switching the move out dateREALLY???????? I was lucking that my apartment still had an available slot left for the freight elevator The men who moved me did their job as they were suppose to do but what got me in the end was that they charged me for things that were not discussed in our conversations during the estimate....They charged $for wrapping my mattress and box spring, $per tape (in which they used rolls of THIN TAPE)...My bill was suppose to be around $and end up being $They did not even want to take off my bill for their mistakeAlso, Josh told me that I could speak with his manager, Nick on MondayI left a message on Monday and received a call back from JoshI asked to speak with Josh's manager in which Josh lied and said that he was the manager and not NickHe then proceeded to go email by email lying about the conversations and dates concerning my final moving date of August 8, I have saved all my emails with that Company I looked up the name of the company because Josh would state that the name of the company was Local Movers when in fact the name of the company as written on my Contract is Pro Movers Van LineThe customers who have used Pro Movers Van Line in the past have stated the same thing on Yelp

Review: I hired this company to move 12 large pieces of furniture and 8 chairs from my old house to my new house, approximately 2 miles apart. They provided a verbal estimate of $234, for 3 hours of labor at $78. I paid a $100 deposit and signed a contract with all of the items listed on it.When they arrived, I had to sign a document that stated that their verbal estimate was not binding. They offered "free" insurance, which I had to accept per company policy, but that required them to use an extraordinary amount of packing materials, each of which were extra charges. They did not mention that they would be charging me for 2 hours travel time, in addition to the 3 hours they estimated the move would take. The mattresses and sofas HAD to be wrapped in shrink wrap, at a whopping $25 each. For shrink wrap?!? They did not mention that they would try to charge me $1 per pound for my piano, nor did they bring a scale to weigh the piano. They did not mention a 10% fuel surcharge. The worst part is, they representative talked me into voiding a fixed contract I had with another company for $372. That was a flat rate fee for the same exact list of furniture. Before they removed my stuff from their truck, they gave me the final bill...$678!!! Almost three times higher than the estimate. As a former mover, I can attest to what simple job this was and it is outrageous that they charged so much.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to be bound by the $234 verbal estimate they provided during our phone conversation, and to refund the $444 in extra charges they slapped on me while holding my property hostage.

Review: We hired Choice Van Lines to manage a move for a one bedroom and den. We were quoted from [redacted], it would take 3-3.5 hours to complete from start to finsih with a 3 person crew. Upon arrival of the delivery 10/16/13 there was only a 2 man crew and a small 14' penske truck. They were contracted to start at 3:00pm and did not arrive till 4:00pm to start work at 4:22pm. Once they came up to the apartment the movers soon realized that they did not have the necessary means to be able to the move. They had contacted their supervisor [redacted] for assistance, whom spoke with me and the first statement was if we dont want them to do the work, let him know now so they can quit. I was shocked since they were an hour late and a person short that there was not even an apology for wasted time. I took about 30 minutes speaking with [redacted] about the situation trying to find a resolution, during this time work was not being done and we are on the clock paying for nothing. We finally reached a solution, [redacted] had stated that having a 2 man crew would take an addition hour and a half to complete the move and that he would change our rate from 90/hour to 80/hour and also give us one hour free of charge. The work started, they started carrying boxes by hand and on a small roller cart that would fit at most 2 boxes. We had asked them if they had a dolley in order to expedite the movement of boxes. They did not have a dolley just the small carts, they had two. I had a prior engagement within the building so I left the movers to their task and about and hour or two later come to find most of the boxes gone but all the major furniture is still in the apartment including a 9-foot credenza. I had asked them about the furniture and why it was not being loaded first, especially the credenza since its so long, they didn't have an answer. However, they did start working on it once I had asked them to. They had an extremely difficult time moving the furniture since it was so heavy, hence why we hired movers, and this took them almost an hour alone to move the credenza, simply because one the didnt know how to move it and also no dolley to assist in moving it. It was about 7:30pm once I told them that they needed to push through and get the furniture loaded because we are getting close to the deadline discussed with [redacted] (Supervisor). They were exhausted after moving the credenza and were moving extremely slow and rightfully so, needless to say, close to 9:00pm they moved most of the furniture minus our bed, night stands, dresser and table. We get some bad news, the truck is too small and they are going to have to make another trip. By this time it is just about 5 hours into the move and we still have furniture in apartment, we agree to go to the new place and unload the truck. We get to the new place and [redacted] speaks with us and wanted to renegotiate the contract. He states that they are going to need more time and that we are going to have to pay for the time worked. On that statement I do agree, but we discussed our needs that we have a one bedroom plus den and Choice Van Lines did not have the necessary equipement to get the job done. Again, [redacted] lashes out of me and states that if we gave him the correct information in the beginning we would not be in this predicament. I told [redacted] that we had and that if needed we can get the recored call from my service provider, which states our needs. [redacted] did not have any forms for any information when I asked what specifically was written for the order. After much back and forth, the movers were waiting for [redacted] to give them the ok to start work, again on our dollar. Finally, [redacted] gives them the go ahead to work. During this time the foreman comes up to me and apologizes for [redacted] stating that he himself asked [redacted] for a larger truck and a dolley to complete the job faster. The foreman stated that the job could be completed by 10pm. They proceeded to unload the truck and by midnight we were on our way back for the second load. All of us are tired at this point and [redacted] calls seeing the progress, seeing that they have not completed the job after 9 hours of work, he spoke with me and without skipping beat stated that we will need to pay for the additional time. I stopped him there and advised him of the information the foreman gave us, that they did not have a dolley to move boxes, they did not have any tools to disassemble/reassemble as stated per contract, a small truck, a 2 man crew and a grossly underestimated time to complete the move. He stated to me that they could have someone bring the necessary tools. I said to [redacted] if you have someone to bring tools then you have someone to help move, why is this job taking so long, its only a one bedroom apartment. We argued on the charges and finally told him that we will only pay for 6 hours worth of work plus the packing materials. We agreed upon this with the continency that we write a letter stating the reasons why we only wanted to pay for 6 hours. We agreed and it is in process know to be notarized to be send to [redacted]. Finally, at the end of the move its about 1:30 am, we completed the contract and still have furniture that has not been moved. After 10 hours of moving, we do not have all our stuff, our table isnt put together, our bed isnt put together and we are extremely disappointed that [redacted] is only thinking about money versus providing a service.Desired Settlement: After 10 hours worth of work, damage to our Credenza, not having our bed or table built (pictures can be provided) the movers speaking [redacted] for the lack of equipment, and a gross misqoute from 3-3.5 hours worth of moving to 10 hours. We want the credenza to be fix to its orginal condition and an additional hour credited to us (80.00)

If I could give this company ZERO STARS I would. I spoke with Josh over the course of a two month period. I ended up having to change my moving date 2 times due to my lease at my new apartment. I finalized my moving date for August 8th from 11am to 12pm and that date was agreed upon by both parties. My finalized date of August 8th was agreed upon 3 weeks prior to my moving date. Come August 7th, I still did not hear from Josh so I decided to call him to confirm my moving date of August 8th in which he assured me that everything was schedule. On August 8th at 12pm I did not get a phone call...nothing. I call Josh several time but he did not pick up his phone. I ended up calling from my sister's phone in which he "all of a sudden answered." He told me that my moving date was for August 11th and that I did not know what I was talking about. He did not want to owned up to his mistake in which I told him that I have emails between us where we both agreed about the current moving date and that he breached our contract. He said that he would get two guys to come move my stuff and that I should be glad that they did not charge me $250 for switching the move out date. REALLY???????? I was lucking that my apartment still had an available slot left for the freight elevator. The men who moved me did their job as they were suppose to do but what got me in the end was that they charged me for things that were not discussed in our conversations during the estimate....They charged $50 for wrapping my mattress and box spring, $5.00 per tape (in which they used 10 rolls of THIN TAPE)...My bill was suppose to be around $400 and end up being $620. They did not even want to take off my bill for their mistake.
Also, Josh told me that I could speak with his manager, Nick on Monday. I left a message on Monday and received a call back from Josh. I asked to speak with Josh's manager in which Josh lied and said that he was the manager and not Nick. He then proceeded to go email by email lying about the conversations and dates concerning my final moving date of August 8, 2015. I have saved all my emails with that Company. I looked up the name of the company because Josh would state that the name of the company was Local Movers when in fact the name of the company as written on my Contract is Pro Movers Van Line. The customers who have used Pro Movers Van Line in the past have stated the same thing on Yelp.

Review: I recently moved and used this company. I had an estimate contract for $286. I ended up paying $1088. I had several items broken/damaged. I contacted the company and was told that I was a liar. I was told that I should be glad I got such a good deal and to stop bothering the company.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the original contract estimate honored and the other monies paid returned to compensate for the damaged items.

Review: To make it a bit easier, I'm going to copy and paste my email complaint that I sent to the company on August 26 :

Good afternoon,

My husband and I used your company to move me into our new home this past weekend. I want to start by saying that I do appreciate the movers working hard to move our furniture. However, the reason for this email is to share the extremely poor experience I had with your company.

My husband and I found your company on Google and after multiple phone calls from your company, we decided to use you to move into our brand new home. I received a copy of our moving estimate via email that required my signature. After reviewing the estimate, I realized that there were only 8 pieces of furniture listed on the 'inventory' of what needed to be moved. Having told [redacted] on the phone that we had an entire three floor house to move, I emailed twice with my concerns that not everything was listed. I received no response to my emails, therefore, did not return the signed document. This past Friday I received a phone call stating that I hadn't returned my signed estimate..... I then explained to the lady on the phone the reason I had not signed it. She responds to me with "that doesn't matter, the reason I'm calling is because I'm wondering if we can switch your move time from 8:00am to between 12 and 2pm". I apologized and explained to her that we had planned our day around the move so, we needed the 8:00 move time. She tells me, "you'd really be helping us out if you switched your time, we have another job to do before yours". Once again, I declined the ability to switch our time. I then hand wrote in the remaining items on the estimate sheet, signed the estimate and returned via email (with no response).

8:00am Saturday morning comes, and the movers aren't at our house. I waited a half hour before I began calling Choice Van Lines multiple times. I called both phone numbers listed, both with no answer and no voice mail. I waited some more. I was getting ready to rent a Uhaul truck when I received a phone call at 9:30am from one of the movers stating they would be at our house in 40 minutes. One hour later (2.5 hours late), the movers showed up.

The movers began the job. When we arrived at the new house, we were shocked to learn that the total cost of the job was $1,662 MORE than the estimate given to us. What we thought was going to be a $540 job, turned into $2,202 with absolutely no expectation set beforehand. I can not stress how much of a POOR experience this makes for your customer. We had NO idea in advance that we would be paying for each box that the movers ripped up to wrap around a piece of furniture, nor did we know how costly the boxes would be. We were unaware by all means, that we'd be paying hundreds of dollars in tape to re tape the boxes that we already taped ourselves. Prior to the move, I was told on the phone, by [redacted], "the movers will have extra packing materials on their truck in case you need anything.. it's like $3.00 a box...".

As the movers started moving furniture in, they neglected to put anything down on our brand new hardwood floors, which they dinged three times. They also left marks on the walls, and dirt on the carpets as well. We asked that they put something down on the floors before they continue. They did this with no problem. They finished moving the boxes into our home however, they ran 30 minutes later than the end time they listed on our receipt, the mover asks me how I'm going to pay for that extra 30 minutes, cash or check? I don't typically carry either. After having been so upset that the job cost 4 times what we expected, I absolutely did not feel it was our responsibility to pay them for the extra 30 minutes. That was their error, they didn't finish 'on time'.

As the movers finished, we were asked to leave a tip for the guys, when we stated we didn't have any cash, they left ALL of their trash at our house, got in the truck, and drove off.

Meanwhile, we provided the movers with breakfast, lunch, and bottled water all day. We also offered them the furniture that we no longer wanted (which they took with them when they left).

The way that Choice Van Lines is run is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. False expectations were set in the beginning and no expectations were set the day of the move. The two people I communicated with on the phone were not only unprofessional but unfriendly as well. The lack of ANY response that I received on my multiple emails just reinforces the un professionalism and lack of 'care' for your customers.

I have read every word of your 'contract' and feel that it is extremely misleading when your office and movers do not set proper expectations. I am appreciative for the hard work that the movers put in on Saturday and I 100% understand that you all have to protect yourselves in packing the furniture a certain way.

Overall, having emailed Choice Van Lines multiple times and receiving no response, having the movers show up 2.5 hours late, having the total cost come out to be $1,662 MORE than the estimate, having marks left on our floors and walls, and having trash left at our house, I hope you can see how frustrating this has been.

My goal in writing this email is to express my dissatisfaction and unsettling experience that I had with Choice Van Lines over the weekend. My hope is that you refund to us part of the cost of materials used. My other hope would be that the huge pile of trash left at our house will be picked up. I will not recommend your company to a single person. I will share with others what happened to us and, I will report you to the Revdex.com.

You may feel free to call me at ###-###-#### should you have any questions.

After having sent that email, I received a phone call from [redacted] saying she "got my email and wanted to talk to me about it". Due to the tone in her voice and lack of apology, I decided not to return the call however, on Friday, I received an email from Rachel apologizing and stating that she wanted to "make me feel better". I returned her call. While she apologized and explained that their reputation was important, she cut me off multiple time as I was trying to speak and said "the only thing I see wrong here is that the movers were supposed to give you an estimate of what they thought they would use on packing materials BEFORE they touched anything". I told her they absolutely did not do so. She said she would have to contact them and that she would get back to me Monday or Tuesday. Before we hung up the phone, I asked if it was normal to leave all of their trash at the job site and her response was "well it depends on the customer, if you would have paid them, they would have taken it with them" I said to her that I was not at all expecting them to leave the trash and she replied with "that's yours, you paid for it...". Monday and Tuesday came and went, and I didn't hear from her. Wednesday, I sent her a follow up email to see if she had a chance to talk with the movers... I did not receive a response.Desired Settlement: Ultimately, my desired outcome is that future customers do not have the experience that I did. I strongly feel this company needs to set better, more clear expectations and in the very least, I think they should focus on being responsive to their customers. I truly feel their contract is somewhat misleading and I was not left with a breakdown of what we actually paid $2200.00 for. But right now, I would like a partial refund for the packing materials used.
