Review: My name is [redacted]. I brought my daughter [redacted] in yesterday to have her wisdom teeth removed. Her insurance would cover only two extractions so I called a few days ago to ask how much it would be out of pocket if we chose to pull them all. The receptionist quoted me 105 dollars and change total. At the office this morning, however, I was told that it was actually 160 dollars. I was unhappy about the error but I paid the new price. When she was finished I was told that there they had charged me the wrong price and I now owed them an additional 380 plus dollars. Now, I am a quadriplegic and a single mother. My daughter and I live on my disability benefits. I only had enough for the additional charges because we've been saving in order to afford a move we are making shortly. I would never have agreed to this price but the work was already done. My daughter burst into tears as we left feeling that she had been the cause of such expense. Your office has put us under undue financial strain.Desired Settlement: Partial refund, apology

Review: On June 7, 2013, I visited the office for a routine check-up and paid $23.80 which office staff stated was my estimated responsibility after my insurance company paid their portion. (Still not sure exactly what this was for.) I returned on June 14, 2013 for restorative treatment and paid $41.40, once again being told this was my estimated responsibility after insurance payment. In July, I received a bill for $57.60, with a note stating that my insurance company had replied that I had no coverage. Actually, I was due to change insurance carriers, but had paid [redacted] for coverage through June 30, 2013. So, on September 27, 2013 [redacted] still not having corrected the error, I came into the office and made a payment of the $57.60.

I subsequently received an Explanation of Benefits from MetLife, stating that for services rendered on June 14th, they would make a payment to Cholla Hills Family Dentistry of $94.40 on October 3, 2013 , and that "patient's financial responsibility to the dentist is $23.60."

When I returned to the office on January, 2014 for another routine check-up, I inquired about whether a credit was appearing on my account. I was told "Yes, but we don't have the amount available to us." I was told by office staff they would refer the matter to the accounting person.

In February, after having heard nothing, I called the office and was told that a credit of $94.00 was appearing on my account. I requested that any overpayment for my patient portion be returned to me. In March, still having heard nothing, I called again and was once again told a message would be given to the appropriate individual.

After still again receiving no communication from the office,, on April 14, 2014, I called and spoke with [redacted]. He stated that he would need to audit my account because the overpayment may have been made by [redacted] and therefore refundable to them. He stated that he would audit the account and would "definitely" call me back, "by the end of business day tomorrow."

It is early evening April 15, and I received no return call from [redacted]. The whole matter has been seemingly been ignored once again. I have always been conscientious about making payment for my portion of charges at the time of service and, in turn, would expect a similar timely response in the case of overpayment.Desired Settlement: Return of overpayment for patient responsibility portion for services.
