Customer called in claiming two band aids were found in her Calamari appetizer, accusing us for their appearance 1) Should the need ever arise, we use gauze and tape, not band aidsA band-aid cannot originate from our restaurant2) There is only one chef with no cuts on his hands and certainly did not have on any band-aidsThere are two other employees who never touch the food that also have no cuts nor had band-aids3) The band-aids were found in the Calamari, a fried foodWe have saved the returned food (including the band-aids) and there is no evidence that they were ever fried in hot grease (which would be very obvious if it happened)Finally – addressing the refund and double charge: after we took back the food and ascertained that the majority of it was consumed, we cancelled the initial charge and issued a second charge with a 30% discount, with the time-stamped documentation to prove it
