I am rejecting this response because:
The owner of the business did not talk with me till a week laterI was never offered refund the next day. The repair by the 2nd company was completed the next dayThe company never reached out to me, I had to reach out to them to complain about the inferior product they installed. The owner a week later told me he wished he had the motor to see what the problem was but he would still work with me to refundAt that point he never talked with me again, even though I called and emailed on multiple occasions
Sincerely,

Our technician was in the attic and lost his footing due to the attic not having any foot boards to walk on, his foot did go through the ceiling leaving a foot sized holeThe repair work that was done, included repair, and repainting of the ceiling, kitchen, and hallway. We did not approve nor
were we informed at the extensive repainting that was done totaling $2,Our company feel we are only responsible for a portion of these repairsWe did waive our entire invoice for the work our company done in this home(A value of $400.00)

Our company offers emergency services until 8pmOur phone recording states if you call after 8pm to leave a message and your call will be returned the next business dayWe called the next day to offer a full refund, however the homeowner had already called another company and no longer had the
defective motorWe could not do a refund since they could not provide us the motor that was defective

I am rejecting this response because:
Two people, two different people at Chowning said that if there were more than two leaks found, that that is when the clock would start I was also told by both of those people that *** would be calling me that day, two days in a row which was when I was told by those two people the stipulations for having the work done.I also don't appreciate being called ignorant of the hazards of a gas leak in a house Either *** knows something that *** and scientists don't or a gas leak can lead to asphyxiation in people and explosions in houses I'm going with potential death from a gas leak. Here is my response I don't need one from *** I know he isn't going to change his tune and isn't going to pay for the repairs I personally don't think his employee did the pressure test which is why no leaks were found
Sincerely,

I don't recall the exact time we spoke about the matter.  I thought it was the next day, but regardless it was never until he already had it repaired by someone else.  He never called us during business hours the day after we did the repair which he would need to do in order for us to take care of the problem.  I don't understand why someone would pay to have a motor put in and not call the company back the next day when they open to have it fixed again.  If it were me I would be calling as soon as they opened like most people would.  We have a 1 year warranty on all parts, but how can we honor the warranty if he never gives us the chance to fix it.  I would still give him the money for the motor, but I cannot return a motor if he cannot provide the motor to me.  I can't take back a receipt to [redacted] to return a television that I claim is broken without bringing the television back to [redacted].  We have the right to back our work, which we would have been back the next day and repaired it at no charge, but how can we do that if he does not contact us properly.  He says he left a message on our emergency service line at 9:48pm when our message clearly says emergency service ends at 8pm and to call back the next morning.   I have no way of even knowing if what he is claiming about the motor we put in is even true.  It is very rare for a brand new motor to go out a few hours after installation, but yes it can happen.  That is why there is a warranty.  If he chose another path to get the unit repaired that was his choice, not one I would have made, but ultimately his choice.  Tus why here...

First of all we never claimed we missed any leaks.  We perform a pressure test on every gas line during an inspection and if there is no pressure drop then there is no leak showing up at that time.  We do over 5000 inspections a year and we find gas leaks on a daily basis.  We don't...

have any reason to mislead the buyer and tell them it is fine when it is not.  We also do gas repairs, so if we would have shown a pressure loss that day my guys are instructed to shut off the gas at the meter and contact the listing agent and inform them.  At that point we get the repair in most cases, but we tell them they can have any qualified company do the repair.  I like to keep our repairs and inspections separate, I don't want it to look like we are finding items to repair just so we get more repairs.  We do have warranties on our inspections.  We have 30-days on visual items, but we do not have a warranty on mechanical failures and gas line leaks.  This inspection took place over a month and a half ago.  We put out a disclaimer with our inspections explaining the warranty and the reasons for it.  Gas leaks it the number one item for me that we definitely cannot warranty.  Gas leaks can occur at anytime and you would be amazed how many homes have leaks right now and don't even know it.  The biggest problem with these old gas lines is the thread sealant on the lines.  When it gets old the sealant gets hard and brittle and can crack easily.  Just bumping a line, vibration or even temperature changes can cause these lines to leak easily.  Another thing, if the leak was large enough to smell then why didn't anyone smell the leak during the Home Inspection or any other time people were in the home before it closed, unless the leak occurred after the fact.  Leaks are not always there, they have to start sometime.  Our job is to inspect the home in its current condition, not predict when there might be a problem.  It is a pass or fail.  We have actually altered our inspection in July by making the technician take before and after pictures of our pressure test and put it on the report.  We are doing this just to protect ourselves even more because as you can imagine with over 5000 inspections this happens from time to time and people are always looking for someone to blame these days.  I think what I offered this guy was very fair.  We were waiving our leak search fee of $150, no trip charge, and since all of our guys are very busy right now I offered to go look at me myself and if it was an easy fix I wasn't going to charge him.  If it became more involved then it would be an $80 an hour labor charge.  I'm not sure where he came up with the fixing 2 leaks thing, that's something I never said.   I didn't have to offer anything since this is not covered under any warranty and again remember this is from over a month and a half ago.  A lot can happen in that amount of time.  I was just trying to work with the guy and help him out to save him some money but he did not want to cooperate.  Not sure if I need to comment on his comment about his house blowing up and not waking up.  That's just lack of knowledge on his part and that would not happen.Tell us why here...
