Review: 1st they gave me the wrong shocks & didnt realize it until I brought them back to my home to install them & they were the wrong shocks and springs I then went back to chassisworks explained to them that the shocks & springs were wrong I was then told by Mr [redacted] to bring the back and he would exchange then I went back to exchange them he exchanged the springs but would not exchange the shocks because they were marked I asked for the Manager and she said she was too busy to see me. I feel they made the mistake they should exchange for the right ones rather they were marked up or not It was not my fault they made the error.Desired Settlement: I would like the correct shocks that were soppose to be given to me in the first place. The shocks and Coild costed me $ 629.00 and additional $108.50 when they couldnt produce the shocks that I ordered and had to pay this additional charge for an upgrade. Manger should be repremended since she is soppose to handle problems that occur in her store.

Response:

Customer came in and asked for coil over shocks to fit his front frame. [redacted] took him out to the show room and showed him our 2x3 a-arm front frame and asked is this what he has? He replied 'yes.' [redacted] told him, 'if this is what you have, it will use either the 2.80 travel shock or the 3.50 travel shock.' He then said the vehicle was sitting too low so he wanted the longer shock. Which is what [redacted] sold him along with the 7” springs to match the application. When he called to tell say the shocks were too short and won’t raise his car to the ride height he wanted, [redacted] told him to measure the mounts to establish the ride he was after.

Once that was done it sounded like he needed 4.25 travel shocks and 9” springs. [redacted] told him to bring the shocks and springs back and we could exchange them if there are no bad scratches on the springs. When he brought the shocks in they had deep scratches and gouges in the bodies, vise marks on the lower mounts where they were held in a vise to put the springs on, and the spring seats were scuffed and scratched up from improperly installing the springs. These springs usually fit loose on the 3.50 travel shock and should NOT have required the use of a vise to install them. After our receiving department inspected the return, [redacted] told the customer we couldn’t take them back. That’s when he said "I told you I need the 4.25 travel shocks when I first place the order."

[redacted] conferenced with the office manager about the damage the customer caused to the shocks while installing them and the office manager confirmed the shocks were too badly scratched to take back. [redacted] asked the customer how he did so much damage to the shocks. The customer replied, "It doesn’t matter what I did to them I wouldn’t be here if you had gave me the shocks I wanted in the first place."

[redacted] then apologized to him and reminded him that he had showed him our frame and that the customer had agreed that was the frame he had and agreed to the shocks and springs he purchased. He called his wife to write down the my e-mail. She sent me an e-mail to thank me for helping.

This is the email we received from his wife:
