Chris' Auto Clinic, LLC Reviews (16)

I purchased a car from this dealership around April 2014. It was an [redacted] and it looked absolutely beautiful. I spoke with the sales person who did his job very effectively as he managed to convince me to buy a car that looked nice on the outside. Unfortunately they never informed me of the absolute [redacted] that existed under the hood of that car! Within the first week of having it, I had to bring it back for a sensor issue. I waited well over 5 days as my car sat on his lot collecting dust. Every time I called them they had some excuse as to why the work hadn't started yet. I finally got the car back almost a week after dropping it off for a SENSOR. In late June early July my water pump blew on me and I had to again take the car back to his dealership. Again, it sat around for over 5 days . I was told they were waiting for an adjuster to come out so they could get the warranty company to take care of the issue. I was frustrated so I decided to call the company that held my warranty and I come to find out that they aren't paying for my failed water pump because a claim for the water pump had been put in by this dealership less than three months ago. When I brought my car in the first time for the sensor issue, he claimed a failed water pump on my warranty without notifying me. Thats when I knew I had an issue. I spoke with the owner and of course he took care of the water pump along with over $400 worth of other parts that I apparently needed, INCLUDING A TIMING BELT (This part is very important for what I am about to tell you) free of charge. Or so he said... About three weeks ago I'm pulling out of a business on a very busy expressway and my car just dies. Thankfully I was able to stop the car before rolling into the middle of the expressway. My daughter was in the car with me! She's 6 years old and if that car had died just two or three seconds later than it did, we would have been struck by the oncoming traffic and I probably wouldn't be writing this.... I AGAIN!! Had the car towed to Chris' where I was told that THE TIMING BELT HAD BLOWN!! The very same timing belt that he just done for "free" no more than 5 months ago. If that wasn't bad enough, guess how long my car sat around for?? Go ahead guess! I'll give you a hint... FIVE DAYS!! Naturally I was furious so this time I had the car towed to another shop. I was done! I wasn't gonna fall for this man's crap anymore. Two days after bringing it to the new shop I'm told that my engine is BLOWN! Let me be clear. This car dealership is a farce. It only exists to make sure the owner can make as much money selling junk to the less fortunate as he possibly can. He literally has the same complaints over and over and it absolutely boggles my mind how they are still in business!!!? Every single thing they do is shady! They'll probably respond to this statement I'm making by saying they "tried to set up an appointment to have the car inspected and fixed" or "the first claim on the water pump was a warranty processing mistake" but the fact of the matter is this. He sold me a lemon! And he committed fraud with the warranty company when he claimed my water pump the first time. When I found out the engine was blown, I had absolutely no desire to bring that car back to him because I knew what the outcome would be and how long it would take and I was fed up! I am a single mother with bills to pay and I don't have time to be chasing a crooked dealer or dropping my car off to be fixed every other week. I will be seeking legal council on this matter.

In response to the complaint that was filed. [redacted] did purchase a 2006 [redacted] from our Facility on 07/21/2014. The customer had called to set up a appointment for service, Normally we do not loan vehicles out while a service appointment is going on. I understood the situation she was...

in and offered a loaner vehicle as soon as one became available. Our facility never once denied this customer service on there car. Simply stated to the customer, feel free to drop your vehicle off and we will get it right in for service unfortunately I do not have a loaner vehicle available. We have no problem doing any repairs needed on this customers vehicle anytime that is acceptable for her, unfortunately we are not required to let a customer use a vehicle while there vehicle is in for service. It was offered if one was available, as a convenience not something that any dealership is required to do.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: [redacted] the service manager told me a loaner would be available before I even signed the papers.  He never said it was not a standard practice of theirs.  I have been in 5 times.  The first 4 the loaner was not mentioned.  I was just told to come back in a few days.  He never set an actual appointment.  This last time I was in that's when he used the loaner as the excuse.  He still had not even asked what is wrong with this vehicle and it's been over 30 days at this point.
To top it off I was made to purchase a warranty for $1900 that kicks in after 60 days and feel he is waiting till the 60 days is up so my warranty covers the things wrong with truck.
As proof of fact that he pushes things off he made me wait 9 days before my truck was registered with DMV because he didn't want my registration included in July packet to DMV. Everything they do the is shadey.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

After reviewing the complaint and all that has transpired since this complaint was put in.  By law a dealer is not required to offer a loaner or rental while repairs are being performed.  If the customer would like to make a proper appointment for service and drop the vehicle off we would...

be willing to take care of any concerns that has to do with safety issues.

I'm a second time around costumer with Chris Auto and again I am happy and great full with the hospitality and customer I receive If anyone is looking for a car I recommend Elie V[redacted] he will get you in the right car with no bluff and as for the financing gettleman by the name of John he will give good advice on recommendations as for financing free of charge.

Just paying off a truck I only had for 6 months. The first week of my purchase the SUV gave me trouble and every week after that I had to bring my truck back. Then was told I had to pay $100 every time I brought it back. I brought the truck to a Mercedes dealership of which they told me the truck had the incorrect hoses and spark plugs which cause fluid to go into the engine which means the engine blew. I called Chris's and told them they needed to tow the truck and get it fixed. they had the truck for about 3 months after that because I was told that they had to send it somewhere else to fix it. I called credit acceptance to pick the car up because I was no longer going to pay for it. Also the inspector that went out to look at the car from the Motor Vehicle (of which the person was a close friend of Chris or someone that works there) stated that it was my fault for the engine blown becasuse I took it to another dealership. So long story short I got stuck paying off this car that I could not have or use. These people dont car after they sell the car to you, once the finance company gives you the loan thats it. They have people that so not know how to work on cars and sales people that are full of garbage and will sell you anything. The fianace was $12,000, I put 2,000 plus a car that they gave me $500 for, by the time the car broke down I still owed 8,000 for a car I did not own. There was another girl that purchased the other Mercedes truck when I did mines. She also had problems and the same issues I had. They are scammers please do not purchase a car from them.

Review: I purchased my 2002 ford explorer on march 5,2013. I have been in the shop with it just about every weekend since.

Breaks are bad. Tires are all worn. Keeps having fuel vapor leaks. They switched gas caps with another vehicle. They fixed something with the fuel filler neck that's still bad because I get a puddle of gas under my truck when fueling it. And my gas cap light is on again after two weeks. The whole underneath of the truck is rotting. I asked for all my paperwork they never gave it to me. I asked for the car fax and they never gave me one of those either. I drive 3 miles to work and home everyday 5 days a week. Most of my miles have come from driving there. I want a different truck with the same payments or I want my 2000$ I put down plus the money I have paid towards the vehicle. I am also goin to notify DMV. I'm fed up with them and the situation. Also badly leaking antifreeze. So many things wrong. I don't want the vehicle and its problems it's a lemon!!!Desired Settlement: I either want another of the same truck. With the same payments or all of my 2000$ I put down plus the payments I have made for all of my headaches and stress I have been going through.

Review: I gave a deposit of 100 dollars on March 29, 2014 for a 2004 Cadillac Escalade with the agreement that I would receive delivery of that vehicle on Friday April 4 2014. On that date I drive down to pickup the vehicle and it's not ready they said yo come back the next day I call Saturday and the truck is still not ready I didn't hear anything from them, on April 8, 2014 I found and purchased another vehicle and took delivery the next day at which time I called them and informed them about my other purchase and ask to have my deposit mailed back to me. I have been given the run around ever sinceDesired Settlement: I would like to get my money back and not have to go to small claims court where I will seek my 100 dollars plus any lost wages and attorneys fees. I have been very patient with them.

Review: I purchased a 2003 VW Passat on 05/01/13. I have numerous issues . The price given to me was 5995.00 and I needed 1500.00 down according to [redacted] the salesperson. I stated I wanted to use there buy here pay interest promotion advertised. I gave them a 300.00 deposit Upon going to pick up the car on 05/01/2013, the car was not ready and I was told they put me through for a loan thru credit acceptance as they were not going to use there in house program and I needed a total of 2200.00 more to get the car. I got the rest of the money and noticed , the car price went up and the interest was 18.99%.I pointed tis out to the sales manger and he said that was the cash price not the finance price. I said you cant do that that's a bait and switch. I asked for the car fax history and original invoice [redacted] gave me the price on . To this day I have nothing.Upon getting the car , the car had not been detailed ( On contract ) and we had issues within a few days with rear brake bulbs blowing and check engine light came on.The vehicle then was brought back within a few months for the same problem and I got the run around for a week while my car sat there without repair. I finally complaint to [redacted] the owner and the vehicle was repaired. On December 18th , 2013Check engine light came back on as well as low fluids and is with power steering howling and the front drivers toe arm is faulty ( diagnosed by an independent mechanic)Return calls and another call on Friday January 31 were unreturned. Frustrated I went to the shop and saw the owner [redacted] and Service manager [redacted] at around 400pm.. I explained my daughter was there 3x and was turned away. He stated he was unaware of the issue. He had a mechanic quickly look at car and top off some fluids. Mechanic stated he needed to order the bulbs and bring the car back for re inspection. This car is not safeDesired Settlement: The car needs to be replaced. They sold me an unsafe and unfit vehicle.Within three days the check engine light came on and bulbs were popping. Vehicle was back a few months later and numerous emission and evap stuff was repaired after sitting for a week,That repair lasted only four months and the CEL light pops on and now the front suspension and power steering are bad.I want my 2500.00 back plus payments already put over 5000.00 into a car that's less than a year old.

Mr. [redacted], has missed appointments to bring the car in to have it fixed, these appointments were confirmed by phone and are on record. Our facility cannot fix a vehicle if the scheduled service appointments are not kept. If Mr. [redacted] would like to call and reschedule the last missed appointment we would be happy to accommodate him.

Review: Purchase used vehicle in November 2014. Was told everything would be fixed upon receiving vehicle and it was not. Door locks do not work, rear door latch missing, DVD player not working, tire sensor not working, engine maintenance light on. Has been to shop 3 times and has not been fixed at all. I even have video of John yelling me it will be fixed. Promised a rental car by Chris the owner while he has it fixed but he never has a car available. Spent the last three weeks trying to set up appointment but will not answer or return my calls. We purchased the extended warranty with the [redacted] and Chris will not fulfill his promise to fix it.Desired Settlement: Have rental car available for my wife to drive, and fix all problems in a timely manner

Review: I purchased my vehicle on 10/4/2013 and brought the vehicle in on 10/16/2013 for alignment issues that dealer said they would cover at no cost to us. However, they used my extended warranty insurance and made a fraudulent claim that my power-steering pump was bad, took the money, and never replaced the power-steering pump. I never signed documents for that repair nor did I approve or even complain of a power-steering issue. I did not pay my deductible for my claim as I had no idea that they were even making a claim towards the warranty insurance.Desired Settlement: I want to be sure that this dealership receives proper penalties to the full extent of the law for fraudulent insurance claims, as they have probably done this more than once. I also want to make sure my warranty receives a full refund.

Response:

[redacted]'s 2005 [redacted] Toureg was brought to [redacted] for an alignment, [redacted] informed us that there would still be a pulling sensation due to a failing power steering pump, the warranty company was called for an approval and the pump was ordered. The customer was supposed to drop the vehicle off for service when the parts arrived, the invoice for the warranty company was inadvertently processed during this time. Upon receiving this complaint the customer was immediately called to set an appointment. The customer then rescheduled, and the did not show for the appointment. Our resolution at that point was to contact and refund the warranty company and contact and send the parts back to the vendor. This matter is closed on our end.

Bought a car from them by a guy named Jonathan M[redacted], wasn't even ready when I arrived to pick it up, had bald tires, one of the salesman went and picked up pizza with it (which I witnessed), a year later the car started having issues, I called/emailed him as instructed after buying a bogus warranty from him and(which tacked on another $4000) his hospitality changed...If I were to do it again, I WOULDN'T!...STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! THEY'RE UNPROFESSIONAL AND THE SERVICE IS GARBAGE.

Review: Purchased a 2006 [redacted] from Chris Auto on 7/21/14. Was told by the service manager [redacted] that they would fix any issues I found wrong with vehicle under the 60 day warranty. Was told four times to bring the vehicle in, when I get there I am told to come back another day because they are too busy. This has gone on for a month now and they have yet to even touch the vehicle. The 4x4 sticks, the AC doesn't work, there is a piece missing at the shiftier that makes the car get stuck in gear. Promised me a loaner never has one available. Has yet to make a formal appointment only excuses that they are too busy. I never see a vehicle in their garage.Desired Settlement: I Paid $9500 for this vehicle and was required to purchase a $1900 warranty that was added to my loan. I put $2000 cash down. I want my deposit refunded and them to take the car back. They refuse to fix the problems in the first 60 days of the warranty period.

Review: We purchased a vehicle from them a a week later the oil light came on so we brought it back to them to be serviced and they said the engine blew. They talked us into another vehicle they said would be the same amount but that wasn't the case the new vehicle was more money up front and the warranty wasn't as good. So now we have this vehicle now and it isn't safe to drive I've made many attempts to resolve the issue but they just blow me off and say we will call you back I've never heard from them mean while our vehicle is sitting at a shop because it isn't safe to drive and the warranty they sold us was bogus!! But we're continuing on paying for a vehicle we can't drive!! Please help us!!
