Our crew did what they believe Mr. [redacted] asked them to do. He spoke to them before they started working. During the process he came out and told them to stop. Enclosed are a couple of the pictures the customer sent to us. The roses are clean cut. There is not splintering of the stems. You can see the pictures of the roses in the back. There are some of the roses that have no leafs on them. We have no idea if they were alive before we cut them back. You can also see the pictures in the front of the rose we cut. There is a hosta next to the rose. I would guess the hosta is 6" tall. I would guess the rose after being trimmed is 14-18" tall. You can see the clippings in the mulch and on the sidewalk. The pieces that were trimmed off were 6-18". After we were finished we spoke to the customer and told them it was urgent to add mulch around the roses because there was no mulch in many areas. You can see in a lot of areas there is bare dirt. If the plants did not have mulch around them they could die from a lack of water or heat kept in the ground. No mulch was added. When were serviced the property in the previous year he stated that three roses died. Roses are not a hardy plant. There are many variables (heat, water, diseases, and insects) that can kill rose bushes. Unfortunately we cannot give him compensation that he would like of $330 to cover his roses as there are many reasons roses can die. I have over 25 rose plants around my house. Last year three that were not touched died. We are sorry we could not satisfy Mr [redacted] claim and wish him the best of luck in the future!

There is a lot of incorrect information and some correct information. Chris [redacted] was never at your site. There was a crew leader and helper that met with you and discussed what you want done and the project. There was never a chain saw used on your site. They used hedge trimmers or hand tools to trimmers to cut your roses. The roses were cut per our conversations and also industry standard recommendations. This is a situation of a customer wanted roses cut back for the winter. He said he wanted 1/2-2/3 removed. We removed that amount and then he said you cut to much. After he complained we showed him pictures of proper techniques for rose trimming and advised him he needed to put mulch, straw, compost or some product around the roses to keep the roses as warm during the winter. We told him that was necessary to protect his roses and he said he was not doing anything. There was no mulch around the roses just bare dirt. We said to him we would stop out in the spring to look at the roses. When he called last week he left a message that all roses have been removed and there are holes in the ground. He never gave us a chance to inspect the roses. Roses are fragile plants. Roses can die from winter, soil conditions, water, and many other conditions. He was charged a very minimal amount to the hedge trimming portion of the job.  Response on iPhone sorry for any grammar errors
