Farmers Insurance used Artigem when a claim has been filed for lost/stolen jewelry When I lost an earring and filed a claim, Farmers had me send my earring to Artigem who then gave Farmers thier appraisal of the earrings My appraisal that was sent in showed the diamonds to be caret each of actual weight, VSand color of JK
When Farmers paid on my claim, it was lower than my appraised value so I called to discuss They state they can only pay on what is the replacement cost I didn't understand how thier value was so much lower than what I had appraised value Farmers then said they would send me Artigem appraisal which showed they said the diamond was caret, VSand K color I called Farmers back and they said this was an error - that Artigem did just an estimated weight and they would re-open the case
I just got a call they had made an error and they diamonds are reappraised at carets, VSand Color of JK so they are incresing my payment
My concern is that they do this to other people who file a claim and they have no idea this has gone on This could end up with the insurance company not paying a lot of money over time if they did this everyone who files a claim and then does not push back when they get a low payout
