Chris's Handyman Services Reviews (3)

I hired Chris's Handyman Service over 9 months ago to do a simple remodel on my house. Since then we've continuously been given the run around and nothing but excuses while little work has been completed and the work that has been done was terrible.
Chris's Handyman Service subcontracted to some of the most expensive people around, they left buckets of mud sitting with lid off, stole tools, opened boxes of parts they didn't need to and scattered parts everywhere, they were never there when they said they would be, often leaving us waiting. When they were there they would be "working" for days and only get a sheet or two of drywall up and the work they did do was out of order (priming before the mudding was sanded, etc.). The shower knobs were installed and the sheet rock was placed over them before capping the part for a faucet so if I would have ran water it would have destroyed the wall. They never securely locked the place and, on at least one occasion, they left the backdoor unlocked and wide open. The heating and air unit Chris P[redacted] himself installed was not sealed properly and damaged the roof which now leaks in several spots thanks to Chris.
Chris never met a single deadline, showed up a few times and left for stupid reasons like there was no drywall when there was many other things he could have been doing. When he missed appointments or was called out on his shoddy work he would always find someone else to blame or some other way to weasel out of the situation. The contractors license for Chris's Handyman Service isn't even in his name, due to existing complaints, but the name of someone who has nothing to do with the company. The property management company I work for has also had to stop using him because of all the complaints and shoddy work. I highly recommend anyone looking for a handyman or contractor find someone else. I wouldn't hire this guy to build my dogs house.

I own a home in Kingman, Arizona but live in San Diego, California. I hired Re/Max Prestige Property Management to manage my property. They recently agreed to supply workers to do repairs on my property. They had Chris's Handyman Services do the repairs. When I drove to Kingman to inspect the property before the tenants were to move in (the following day) I discovered that the materials charged were not on the property and not installed, and the labor was not done. I did not blame the handyman service for this since Re/Max didn't hire him until the last minute. I do however, want to make a complaint about the price that he charged for the materials. I priced the materials at Home Depot and discovered they were WAY overpriced! When I questioned Chris and requested the receipts for the materials, he refused to provide them. I also requested Re/Max to provide the receipts, since they paid him using my funds. They also refused claiming that all their contractors were independent of their office, and the contractors did not supply receipts so there was no way they could supply them to me. HOWEVER...

When I tried to contact Chris at Chris's Handyman Services, the voice mail was answered by Re/Max maintenance department AND Chris's Handyman Services. It became obvious that he was NOT independent and they were both aware that they were way overcharging for the supplies, and realized why both were refusing to supply me with the receipts.

I would CAUTION anyone using Chris's Handyman Services to check the prices they charge for materials and also check that he is NOT still working together with Re/Max and overcharging clients. I would also insure that the services provided were completed satisfactorily. He finally agreed to return and complete the work, but still didn't complete it as he agreed and it was still unsatisfactory. However, my tenants that had a move in date that was already extended for 2 months, did not want to extend his move in date again, agreed to finish the work himself.

Both Chris's Handyman Services and Re/Max continue to refuse to provide me with the receipts for the supplies that Re/Max already paid using my funds.
