Dear [redacted] Thank you for your allowing us to respond and for utilizing our businessAs your aware, you do most of your repair work at homeYou typically come in a pay for a diagnostic and then take the vehicle home and repair it away from our facilityIn fact, if ! remember correctly, this vehicle had its engine replaced by you at home and you couldn't get the AC to work after installation replacementWe charge a diagnostic fee every time some brings a vehicle and asks us to look at their vehicleWhether we find something broke or not, we must pay our guys to look at your carLike going to the doctor and always paying an office visitThere must be a charge for using or facility and equipment that we pay thousands and thousands of dollars for to have available to diagnosis carsIt's only fair to pay for someone's timeYour situation is even tougher on us because someone else is working on the car, and we have no idea the quality of the parts being bought (new vs junk yard) or how they're being installedParts can be installed wrongEvery time you visit we must re-inspect and look over for your own modifications/changes first before we can start troubleshooting to see if anything broke, and that takes more time and resources than even just diagnosticsHas the customer put the vehicle back together right before I start troubleshooting? That is our dilemmaSo really in theory, we probably should have been charging a larger diagnostic fee to begin with instead of our standard oneSo, we feel you should be grateful there wasn't a higher fee involved in looking over your vehicleIt's our understanding you're upset because after the second diagnostic because you claim we didn't catch a leak on a part you installed at home? Let me remind you we had the car days in our shop, with your approval, to check and recheck all AC partsTo make sure the vehicle was holding FreonThis car never lost any AC compression or cooling power the whole days, in fact, we personally walked you out to the car to check the AC system before you left the and you were pleased with the AC performance and drove off with the vehicleThe system was in working order when it left and had been for its entirety while at the shopWhy would you leave if you weren't happy? So now you claiming we didn't catch something with the AC systemThat is not trueHow many days do we have to hold a car that's working correctly to prove to a customer that everything is ok? days is way more than expectedThis business is hard enough just repairing vehicles ourselves, no less trying to figure out what someone is doing to the car themselves prior to it coming in for a diagnosticDid they get a junk yard part? Did they order some cheap overseas part of the internet? Did they try to repair some of the parts themselves? Were they working on something else around the AC system and accidently damage it? Problems are twice as hard to determine when people at home are working on themWe have to assume nothing is the way the factory put it together to start, which makes it way more difficultWe don't know what happened days later to your car, but it wasn't our faultWe never repaired anything on that car other than a cheap $Schrader valveWhile it is unfortunate that you're experiencing additional issues with your AC system, we did not repair anything and therefore have nothing to warrantyWe just put Freon in the AC system you installedHope this helps [redacted] Owner

Dear [redacted] Thank you for your allowing us to respond and for utilizing our business. As your aware, you do most of your repair work at home. You typically come in a pay for a diagnostic and then take the vehicle home and repair it away from our facility. In fact, if ! remember correctly,...

this vehicle had its engine replaced by you at home and you couldn't get the AC to work after installation replacement. We charge a diagnostic fee every time some brings a vehicle and asks us to look at their vehicle. Whether we find something broke or not, we must pay our guys to look at your car. Like going to the doctor and always paying an office visit. There must be a charge for using or facility and equipment that we pay thousands and thousands of dollars for to have available to diagnosis cars. It's only fair to pay for someone's time. Your situation is even tougher on us because someone else is working on the car, and we have no idea the quality of the parts being bought (new vs junk yard) or how they're being installed. Parts can be installed wrong. Every time you visit we must re-inspect and look over for your own modifications/changes first before we can start troubleshooting to see if anything broke, and that takes more time and resources than even just normal diagnostics. Has the customer put the vehicle back together right before I start troubleshooting? That is our dilemma. So really in theory, we probably should have been charging a larger diagnostic fee to begin with instead of our standard one. So, we feel you should be grateful there wasn't a higher fee involved in looking over your vehicle. It's our understanding you're upset because after the second diagnostic because you claim we didn't catch a leak on a part you installed at home? Let me remind you we had the car 3 days in our shop, with your approval, to check and recheck all AC parts. To make sure the vehicle was holding Freon. This car never lost any AC compression or cooling power the whole 3 days, in fact, we personally walked you out to the car to check the AC system before you left the and you were pleased with the AC performance and drove off with the vehicle. The system was in working order when it left and had been for its entirety while at the shop. Why would you leave if you weren't happy? So now you claiming we didn't catch something with the AC system. That is not true. How many days do we have to hold a car that's working correctly to prove to a customer that everything is ok? 3 days is way more than expected. This business is hard enough just repairing vehicles ourselves, no less trying to figure out what someone is doing to the car themselves prior to it coming in for a diagnostic. Did they get a junk yard part? Did they order some cheap overseas part of the internet? Did they try to repair some of the parts themselves? Were they working on something else around the AC system and accidently damage it? Problems are twice as hard to determine when people at home are working on them. We have to assume nothing is the way the factory put it together to start, which makes it way more difficult. We don't know what happened days later to your car, but it wasn't our fault. We never repaired anything on that car other than a cheap $13.92 Schrader valve. While it is unfortunate that you're experiencing additional issues with your AC system, we did not repair anything and therefore have nothing to warranty. We just put Freon in the AC system you installed. Hope this helps. [redacted] Owner
