Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: First of all Mr. [redacted] seems to have selective memory of the whole encounter, which is causing distortion of the facts. FACT 1: After the diagnostic check that was overseen by [redacted], I was informed by him that if I agreed to pay for the services that he recommended that my car would pass inspection, which is the reason I went there in the first place. After the work was done, the engine light remained on and I was instructed to continue driving in order for the codes to reset. They did not and the car was still in the same condition as it was when I brought it in. [redacted] was too convincing and led me to believe if I agreed to do this work, the car would pass.FACT 2: Due to the fact that I did not trust Christian Bros. to do the work needed to pass my inspection, I took my car to the Texas Dept of Public Safety and obtained an inspection from them. The inspectors name was [redacted], the Authorization code is: [redacted]. Dated 5/11/17. So lie number 2 is that I was upset and demanded them to pass my inspection. I did not them to do it as I already had it FACT 3: The other mistake I made was to have Christian Bros. continue to work on the car. I agreed to have them do a tune up which involved changing of the spark plugs. As soon as I drove the car off the lot the car started smoking. I called right away and they said it was probably some oil that was on some of the hoses that would eventually burn off. I brought back the next day and was then informed that I had a value/gasket leak and that to repair it would be over a thousand dollars. I refused to have the work done and told them that my car was not doing this before the tune up. They claimed I had an old car and that I knew about all these problems. Simply not true. Feeling deceived again, I hired an ASE certified mechanic to look at it the next day. His findings were that the spark plugs were tightened so hard that it caused the damage to create the oil leak. He said that the plugs were tightened even harder than the factory could put them in. He is willing to testify regarding his findings. It was this neglegance that caused my problems. [redacted] comment in his response said "that it was up to the customer to approve of the work or not".  Well I did not approve and asked for my money back. And as you can see they do not stand by their work.

My name is [redacted]. I am the owner of Christian Brothers Automotive-Round Rock. My team and I are dedicated to consistently delivering the highest level of honest and reliable automotive repair services to each of our customers. I would like to respond to Mr. [redacted] recent complaint- ID of...

[redacted]- and to present the facts of the matter. On February 8, 2016, Mr. [redacted] requested an estimate for replacing the mass air flow sensor boots and the spark plugs on his vehicle. He returned on the week of May 22, 2017 with a check engine light on and Mr. [redacted] requested that we replace the mass air boots and headlight bulbs which we did. We released the vehicle to Mr. [redacted] to drive to see if the check engine light would return since he told us that prior to May 22nd he had decide to install his own mass airflow sensor.  The check engine light did return and Mr. [redacted] returned and authorized for us to perform an Euro diagnosis. The Euro diagnosis revealed that the cause of the check engine light was due to a cylinder misfire. Mr. [redacted] authorized us to replace the spark plugs, we cleared the codes, and he took the vehicle. In addition, we informed  Mr. [redacted] that the mass air flow sensor that he installed earlier was faulty. He drove the car a few days and returned with another mass airflow sensor code because he had not replaced the faulty one that he installed earlier. He became upset and requested that we pass his vehicle even though the vehicle would not pass the Texas State Vehicle Inspection Requirements. At this point, I offered and and Mr. [redacted] agreed for us to replace and do the work for Mr. [redacted] at no charge-  supplying a new mass airflow sensor along with the labor to install the mass airflow sensor (a dollar value of $540.00)- to replace the bad one that he had installed. At the same time, we gave Mr. [redacted] an estimate to fix the oil leaks on his vehicle which was causing his vehicle to smoke. Since that time, we have not seen Mr. [redacted]'s vehicle. My team and I are professional, honest and reliable. We do an outstanding job of repairing vehicles. My guys are ASE Certified Master Technicians. They diagnosis vehicle repair issues and then recommend the manufacturers recommended repairs to the customer. The customer always makes the final decision to approve the repair(s) or not to approve the repair(s).  We have done everything is an upright manner and we went the extra mile in helping Mr. [redacted] with his vehicle. Those are the facts of our dealings with Mr. [redacted] and his vehicle issues. Please let me know if you have any questions.Sincerely,[redacted]
