Christian Family Medicine Reviews (1)

The very RUDE lady at the front desk told me that I could not be seen and refused to call and verify what I was telling her about my insurance.I called and made an appointment first thing this morning for 9:30. I arrived at that time and signed in. The lady had me fill out an update sheet so I did so and turned it in. Under insurance I wrote [redacted] but put a question mark under the membership ID. I still have bluecare as of now but I also just acquired [redacted] through my new teaching job. [redacted] went into effect October first but I have not received my new card yet. I called [redacted] prior to this and they told me to pay the copay and they would back date and pick it up. I know that this is true because not only did I ask Christian Family when I called, but I have already done this at two other doctors offices for my child this week and it was no problem. The lady was very rude and told me that I could not be sen and refused to even hear what I had to say about still having [redacted] and about calling [redacted] to verify. I think that it is a disgrace to have "professional" people who act so ridiculously. I assure you that I, as well as my family, will never go to them again. Its really sad because when they first opened [redacted] Jane [redacted] was a great doctor and still is I am sure. She would pray with us and treat us like she really cared. Now the doctors there don't pray with you, they treat you like a number. And furthermore EVERY time I go they tell me I have strep. One time I literally went in for a physical and they told me I had strep??!! I guess its all about the money but I am one copay they will never receive again. Desired SettlementAn apology would suffice but I seriously doubt that.Business Response I went over this complaint with from office staff. I have spoken with Ms. [redacted] to apologize for the confusion. The young lady was unhappy with our service because the insurance company would not verify her insurance as active at the time of service. The young lady at the front desk told her that they would not give us her policy info, but they might her.She had no interest in speaking to them herself. She indicated that she had done this in two other offices, but the contact we spoke with at [redacted] told us they would not give the information to anyone other than the insured party. I am not sure how the other two offices received the information. We could not see anything electronically indicating that she had insurance other than [redacted] which we notified her was still active. With all the cuts occurring in healthcare, our office policy is verify insurance prior to service. She would have been seen, but she would have been required to pay a deposit towards the visit until insurance was verified. The deposit would have gone to her copay or deductible of her new policy. The staff is not sure that Ms. [redacted] understood this because of her frustration with her policy info not being available to our office. We have been advised to no longer pray with patients. We are in the process of implementing a prayer box system in office. Thank you for your time.
