We are in receipt of your written letter dated November 15, regarding a complaint dated November 15, by *** *** ***I like to thank you for affording me the opportunity to respond to this complaint.Customer: *** *** ***We were excited for *** *** to make an
appointment with our Receptionist for October 28, for Color, Trim and Flexy Rod Style at the "Salon Christol takes *** *** **"A deposit of $was requested and received*** *** was a color guest and I proceeded with the consultation processShe wanted color all over but not close to her roots and she showed me several pictures of the color she desired which was a Deep Purple, but she didn't want it too brightOnce her hair was assessed l asked her several questions about her hair from a hair history aspect as well as a maintenance perspectiveSome of the questions were as follows:o Tell me a little bit about your hair?*** *** stated she normally wears weaves or protective stylesShe hardly wears her hair out, but she wanted to be on the road not depending on the weaves and other enhancements for her hairShe wanted to start wearing her own hair outAdditionally, she really wanted color but wanted her roots to remain dark and for the style a messy look, she just wanted something different. After observing and feeling the texture of her hair, l determined she could receive color, a trim, and the flexy style she desired. to When was the last time you received color? *** *** stated she put a black rinse on her hair about two months agoemphasized to *** *** that since she put black color on her hair months ago, depending on how the previous black color will lift out of her hair will determine how she will see the new color and most likely she will only see a hue of it in the sun because of her previous black colorShe stated I understand all of that, but I don't want it to be light or bright anyway because of my jobSubsequently, we were in agreement that due to the status of her hair, it will not be light or bright due to her previous black color, further, it depends on how well the black lifts off the hair that will determine the finish result of her color which may be a possibility that she will only be able to see just a hue of the color in the sun based on how the black is removedAlso, I asked her if she was allergic to color or was on any medications and she stated NO*** *** thoroughly understood the expectations of her hair and to obtain that look she would require a double process, a Lift and Tone service, she was in full complianceAdditionally, during the consultation, l explained what I will be doing and asked her did she have any questions before we get startedShe stated NO, and proceeded to perform the services. To achieve *** *** request, I applied the Lightener product completely off her roots to ensure her roots remain dark as specified and applied it all over the rest of her hairMy assistant shampooed her hair with a moisturizing shampoo and a color post treatment then, lightly blowdried her hair, so I could apply thc colorAt this time, she stated she was undecided if she wanted purple or blue colorexplained we can do either color but they both will have the same color effect due to the darkness of her previous black color*** *** agreed and finally decided on the midnight blueproceeded to trimming her hair before the color then applied the midnight blue semi-permanent color over her hair which is an extremely mild color and is not strong enough for scalp irritationAfter completing the color, we thoroughly rinsed and shampooed the color out and conditioned her hairAt no time during this process or while styling the hair did *** *** ever complain or inform me of any problems she was having involving her scalp or hair coming outWhile serving *** *** I didn't see any evidence of an irritated and/or burned scalpAlso, there was no evidence of hair loss or damaged hair. The color process was successfully completed because *** *** was pleased with how dark the color turned outShe said especially because of her jobThen, l asked her "are we still going with the messy flexy rods", she stated yes, l want them big and messy more of an undone lookThereby, used the larger flexy rollerOnce dried used my technique with a mini flat iron at the roots to have the curls hang longer to accommodate the look she requested *** was made aware of each step I was providing and if she didn't want the heat, she could have specified that as I was doing her hairwould have accommodated her request if was aware she didn't want it.*** *** was completely satisfied with her results while making payment for her hair services and asked me when was the next time I was coming to NYC because she wanted to come back to me at that timeShe gave me a tip and left my licensed assistant a tip, as well. The next morning *** *** sent me messages with two photos: one with her hair messed up and one with a little bit of hair in her hand and indicating she didn't have any blue in her hairShe stated used a flat iron with flexy rods and her scalp was on fire and coming out in chunks, accusing me of completely damaging her hair and her scalp was irritatedresponded and requested her telephone number, so l can contact her right away to discuss her concernswas trying to schedule a time with her to address her concerns and she sent me a message and stated she consulted legal advice and she will not be calling mc and God forbids that this goes to court, etcI responded explaining that you and I went over the entire process during the consultationThe picture that she sent did not represent the service provided yesterdayShe explained that she never stated that she did not like the look of her hairShe said her scalp was burning and when she combed her hair it was falling outShe stated the chemicals that used affected her scalp and she has no color at allAdditionally, she stated she didn't want to go back and forth with me and she already consulted legal advice and the bank, and she will let them deal with it.*** *** statement that l damaged her hair and I'm the cause of her hair falling out is a statement*** *** was asked in her consultation if she was allergic to color or was on any medications and she answered NOThe lightener and midnight blue semi permanent color over her hair are both mild and are not strong enough for scalp irritation and hair falling out in chunks. While I was performing services on her hair I informed her of each step*** *** never complained of her scalp burning*** ***'s hair wasn't damaged by me and there were no signs of an irritated scalp or burning of the scalp prior or after completed her services.I value *** *** as a valuable customer and I did try to address her concernsUnfortunately, she stated she did not want to go back and forth with me and she already consulted legal advice and the bank, and she will let them deal with itShe told me to have a good eveningTo be in compliance with her request honored it by not responding as requested and respected *** ***'s decisionTherefore, I did respond to her immediately to try to get this resolved. take professional pride in my work to ensure my customers arc satisfied and receiving the quality of services that they are paying forI provided *** *** with the quality services she requested and didn't apply any products to her roots or scalp that would cause the damage that she is alleging.*** *** is now requesting full refund $as well as monetary damages to correct her hair lossWe have demonstrated ourselves in a professional manner and provided quality services and have not done anything to cause this allegation.Respectfully,Christol W***

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I appreciate the Revdex.com assistance with this complaint the reason why I'm rejecting a response that the salon has made is because it's all lies those questions that she's a legend that she asked me she never asked me she wouldn't have dared ask me about medication cuz I would have been none of her business Secondly I don't know why she assumes that she would know if my hair was damaged or destroyed or if my scalp was burned if she only saw me that one day and never saw me again. These allegations that she's a legend of Falls she wouldn't have any knowledge of because she's never saw me again I have recently had to chop all of my hair off just to erase the damage in which she cause she wanted to go back and forth with me to text messaging on [redacted] which I felt that I wasn't going to do because it wasn't getting us anywhere as I stated before she destroyed my hair I sent her pictures the very next morning. She's talking about my hair being messed up my hair was messed up because I had to massage my irritated Scalp I've had color put in my hair by professionals and I've never had this happen to me before Cristol is a liar she's unprofessional and what she did to me and charge me to damage my hair is down right on ethical
Regards,
I am seeking restititution for damage, as well.as the monies I've had to pay to fix the damage in which she caused to my hair as well as my mental distress[redacted]

This salon is so money hungry its ridiculous. I can't speak for any of the other stylists - but Christol is VERY unprofessional. She's very rude to a lot of her clients... and her mother isn't any better. They both are money hungry and its actually very sad. I've been to a ton of salons through out my years of life and NEVER have I ever had anyone talk to me with so much disgust as her and her mother both did. As I just sat and read through their prior business complaint through Revdex.com , their response if you have ever had the undesirable experience of meeting them. Was extremely fake and probably took them days to write. I pray people stop wasting their money here and go to stylists who come to work because they love their craft. Opposed to a money hungry family who will talk to you with disgust and treat you poorly.

Review: I went to this salon to get coloring, layers and styling after being convinced by hair pictures on social networks. My appointment was scheduled for noon. An assistant combed out my hair, I waited about 45 minutes, then another assistant blow dried my hair. After being in the salon for over 2hrs, I finally had a consultation with the stylist, Christol. We discussed the color I was going for which was a little lighter than honey blonde with blonder/platinum highlights. And that I wanted layers and make hair straightened. She explained that may hair may not go as light as I wanted it the first time and would need a double process but the highlights would be bright. She stated my total would be $400 ($250 for coloring and $150 for layering/styling). She then asked what was my budget and I said $300. Christol responded "that she could work with that, that she could definitely work with that." She walked away and I sat there thinking that I was getting the look I requested. She came back in another 30 mins and begin bleaching my hair. I sat for awhile, the assistant washed my hair, I sat with glaze for a while and finally, Christol's mother asked me what else I was having done. I told her layers and styling and that I had already been there for 6 hrs. She responded "I know how long you've been here you don't have to tell me." Another stylist did my layers and styled my hair. Finally looking in the mirror, my hair was yellow and nothing like what we discussed. Christol's mother told me from what she understood I did not want to pay the money for the look I wanted. I then discussed it with Christol and she said the same thing. I said no you responded that you could work with my budget so I assumed I would be getting what I asked for at the price I suggested since she didn't say that it wasn't possible or offer any other suggestions after I said the price. I paid $70 to the stylist who cut my hair and $150 instead of $200 to Christol who still didn't understand that I was dissatisfied.Desired Settlement: In order to solve this problem, they suggested I make another appointment and pay additional money for the hair color I really wanted. I would like a refund for my $150. I like the layers and styling but I am not satisfied with the color and did not stay there 7 hrs to leave unhappy. I would have liked to been told in the beginning that I wouldn't be able to get what I wanted for $300 instead of her making the decision for what I couldn't get.

To our surprise, she is absolutely correct, we did not know that she was dissatisfied with paying the $220.00 until we are now receiving this complaint from [redacted] because at No time did [redacted] dispute or indicate she did not want to pay $220.00 for the services received on October 24, 2014. We were left with the understanding she would be returning. A decision was made by management to only charge [redacted] $220.00 in lieu of $300.00 ($200.00 color & $100.00 haircut /style) to demonstrate that we are concerned about our clients and her misunderstanding assumption and we wanted her to continue to be a client.[redacted] is now requesting $150.00 refund. We provided $300.00 services to her and she is now requesting to incur only $70.00 which reflect a total savings of $230.00 toward her services.
