Christopher did an excellent job on my son's old farmhouse's front porchHe was very affordable and knowledgeableThe porch had several problems that Chris came up with ideas to work with it(The house was built in and nothing is straight, level, or centered in it.) I would definitely use him again!

Hi – I have not been able to post my response through your system. When I click on “Reject business response,” an email body comes up but it won’t let me type into the text area. I did a live chat with Pat who recommended sending my reply through this email and said you would be able to post it for me. Thanks for your help. My reply is below:I’m in the process of getting estimates from other companies to repair/replace the wavy concrete in the garage and the apron/drain. It is going to cost me more than $2000. I need a refund in the amount that other companies estimate it will cost for repair. It is not fair to charge me for work done and materials used if the work wasn’t done correctly. The contract guarantees against defects and poor workmanship. I am within my rights by asking you to honor that. There is also the damage to my driveway that has to be paid for.I have a video recording of one of our conversations during which I pointed out that I wanted 22”-wide sidewalks and that your forms measured 23” at one end and 25” at the other. You checked the measurements and agreed to fix it. I said 5 times during that conversation that I wanted 22” not 24” yet when I got home I found that you had disregarded the conversation and put in 24” sidewalks anyway. During the same video conversation, I made it clear that I did NOT want a “V” in the apron, and we came to an agreement that you would make the apron FLAT. Yet again, you disregarded what I told you and put a “V” in it anyway. That is why I will not have Christopher Brown Cement coming back to fix anything. You weren’t even able to put in sidewalks per specification.Again, when you were pouring the apron, you texted me to come home right away because there was an urgent issue – the issue being that you had put a “V” in the apron. You wanted my okay to it, and I reminded you I wanted it to be flat and I told you to raise it level. You called a guy over who started to heave on it and you said okay you would fix it. But when I got home that night, not only did you not “fix” the “V,” heaving on it created an air pocket underneath. So now it’s defective. My neighbor was present during a conversation with you afterward, during which I raised extensive concerns about the “V” and the air pocket underneath, and you agreed there is an air pocket under it. The plan was just to replace the smaller drain with a bigger one. NOT redesign the area. I have been consistent with you about wanting a flat apron. I have the footage to prove it. There’s nothing on the contract about redesigning the area. I have been in touch with the Ohio Attorney General’s office to file a consumer complaint, and I will file a complaint with Angie’s List.[redacted]
