until he saw the oil on his garage floor. This shows that the oil pan was not leaking previously. The linkage at the carburetor that we repaired was the transmission linkage, not the choke linkage. They are completely separate from each other. As far as the fuel tank problem, I have not inspected that issue. If there is a problem with the wiring, we will repair it at no cost, however we did tell him the fuel tank selector valve is bad.

The car in question was towed to us on February 16, 2016 by [redacted]. We diagnosed the broken timing belt. Then we explained to him that there could be engine damage from the...
broken belt, but that the only way to run a compression test was to install a timing belt. He authorized the timing belt, and also told us to install a water pump and drive belts. After installation we did confirm that the engine had low compression at all cylinders. The most likely cause would be bent valves, but we would need to remove the cylinder head to inspect. At that time [redacted] turned the decision over to [redacted], who declined further inspection.

I think that shows the oil pan was not leaking when the truck was at our shop.
