Christy Signs Reviews (1)

Review: On 5/15/13 a deposit check was cut for a monument sign that Christy Signs was producing. On 6/5/13 check 506 for $3,000.00 was cashed. On 6/17/13 final approved artwork was e-mailed to owner [redacted]. I have left several voice mails for [redacted] on his cell phone asking for an update when the sign will be put in. [redacted] in the office promised me on 7/1/13 that she would speak to [redacted] and give me an update. I have made several more attempts in the last week to speak to [redacted] and she now will not return my phone calls.Desired Settlement: I want the sign installed by 7/26/13 and a phone call or e-mail to confirm that this will be taking place.

Response:

Please forgive me for the delay in my response- I have had a few personal family issues that have taken me out of the office, and my staff was holding my mail for my return. I didn't realize you were in my pile until I got back.

With regards to [redacted], I believe our only complaint should be lack of communication. We have a process that we have to follow on all signage projects. After we receive a signed contract, and deposit check, we create new artwork for our customers so that they can see what their sign will look like. Many times, the customer will ask for some changes to the artwork, which we provide at no extra cost. We obviously can not move forward on fabricating a new sign until we have approval from the customer on the artwork. Yes, we received a deposit check from the customer on June 5th, 2013, however, we did not receive an approval on our design and artwork from [redacted] until June 18th, 2013. Upon approval, then that’s when we can get the ball rolling with first, a permit from the City (this can sometimes take a week or two), we also have to schedule a blue stake at the location, to make sure we are cleared for installation when we are ready for the install. We plan, cut, rout, assemble, paint, and put in neon or led's. After the sign is complete, we then can go to the site and install the signage. This is not a quick process. We do tell our clients that it is typically 4-6 weeks for their sign, once we have approvals. We were right on target, as we installed their sign on July 31st. The client says that they called several times asking for an update from [redacted]'s assistant. She told me that she spoke to them twice, but says that she did not leave any unanswered calls or messages. I feel badly that they feel as if they were mistreated. We take our relationships very seriously. Our customers are our livelyhood, and we value them very much.

We have been in business since 1924 here in the Valley, and I, myself, am 3rd generation in our Family Business. I apologized to our customer in a phone conversation today. I am going to give them a 10% discount on the balance of what they still owe, as a consideration for how they felt they were treated.
