I took English saddles in to be sold at auctionAll three were solid leather, was a new show saddle never used, was a lightly used show saddle, was a work saddle with leathers and stirrupsThe two show saddles came with saddle bags and one had new stirrups They sold everything for $35, and just called them saddles and the saddle bags were called horse blankets I am shocked and appalled at the price they got, and feel like I've been robbed, a new English show saddle sells at $and up Also I dropped off a cupola with a copper roof and a weathervane they sold listed as just a weathervane and only got $with no mention of the cupola That particular weathervane alone has sold for $on Ebay, but the word cupola doesn't appear on my consignor settlement They didn't sell my items with the proper title of what they were and I wrote down the proper titles on my drop off list which they did not even look at apparently I realize they sell to the highest bidder but they didn't use the proper titles and sold for a tiny fraction of what the fair market value is If they had said you might not even get $for the saddles I never would have dropped off and they know that, they have been in business since I did ask about putting a reserve on my items and was told only for autos and art work Furthermore I think they should be investigated for fraudOnce again I feel like I've been scammed by this place, I am shocked and appalled and will never do business with them again
I had participated in an online auction with Christy's of Indiana recently I won a bid for a step ladder where the picture had shown it folded and leaning against a building When I picked it up, it turned out that the legs at the rear of the step ladder had been broken and taped with electrical tape This was not shown in the picture and I'm certain it would be an OSHA issue I was an issue for me So when attempting to place a bid online with Christys, don't rely on the picture and be aware there is NEVER a description as to the condition of the item you are bidding on
