Chroma TV and Appliance

Review: I purchased 3 pieces of furniture from Chroma TV and Appliance back in April 2013. It was special order and took over 8 weeks to come in. Upon it's arrival and after delivery there were a few mfg defects that I contacted Chroma TV about and they said they would send out a repairman. The did a couple of weeks later which the repairman indicated that he was unable to fix and instructed Chroma TV to replace the sofa and loveseat. 6 weeks later I received the two new pieces and the fabric was very bad. I called Chroma to let them know and they said there was nothing wrong with it. I asked did you see it? they said no but it's fine. I called Catnapper the furniture manufacturer directly and after another few weeks and a schedules service call cancelation the service man arrived Aug 21st 2013. I have not heard anything from them so I called Monday 9/12/2013 to see what is going on. I phoned again Monday to see if there has been any determination and I was told that Catnapper is just going to refund the money to Chroma and the furniture can be donated. Chroma TV and appliance just phoned me and said that they are refunding all money except my deposit of 100.00. I asked why they are keeping $100.00 and they said it was for the usage? don't understand and think this is unfair since she is getting reimbursed. [redacted] at Chroma TV said that I could pick up my check. I said OK, thanks. I told her I would contact her when our new furniture comes in and they can come pick it up for we were going to order it this week. [redacted] said she can't do that turned off like a light switch and said that she will deliver the check when she picks up the furniture. I said that [redacted] her salesperson said we could keep the furniture until our new comes in and since it is being donated. [redacted] said no and that if I keep it she will charge me for usage? I said I have a family of 4 what am I to do, she responded that I can go to Aarons or rent a center, I quote "yea that's what you can do" . I said I do not wish to do this.Desired Settlement: I am asking for my full refund and to keep the furniture until my new furniture comes in, especially since it is being donated.

When the furniture was ordered, the customer was told that it was a special order and that NORMAL delivery for such is 6-8 weeks. Mr. [redacted] was not pleased with the furniture he purchased from Chroma. A furniture medic ([redacted]) was sent out to try to take care of his concerns. This did not work for him. Pieces were replaced with new furniture. This did not work for him. Different pieces of furniture from our store have been in his home for approximately 5 months. Speaking with my attorney on the 19th or 20th, I was told that the $100.00 usage fee should have been a much larger sum. In addition to suggesting Aarons or Rent-A-Center, I suggested Levin Furniture. Levins, having oodles of stores, could have something out to him in a day or two. The furniture is not being donated and we are not receiving reimbursement from Catnapper. Chroma TV has been in business “since the dark ages” (over 40 years) and we are thankful for our good customers. This was our first dealing with Mr. [redacted]. As far as the term “turned off like a light switch", does this mean when we were having a phone conversation? Sometimes you just have to listen. I just let him go on and on and on.
