We always tell our customers that did not bring their trade unit in for our inspection at the time of shopping or we are dealing with over phone/internet that we can "estimate" the value of their trade in and put some figures together for them but that it is just that, an estimate, and...

they are welcome to bring it by for inspection any time prior to finalizing the deal and that once we actually see the trade and inspect for any damages not disclosed the value and trade difference can change.
