Review: On May 2013 I walked into BMW of Darien, to see what my lease options were, since my lease on my BMW 328xi 2011, was up in September. I spoke to [redacted], the sales representative for BMW and looked into options for another car. In the process, my BMW 328xi, was being inspected and I was told that the car was fine. I owed nothing. I ordered my new car 2013 BMW 128, and gave a deposit and was told that the car would be in few months. When [redacted] called me in july to pick up my new car, I arrived at the dealer with my old car, while I was signing paper work for my the 128i, my old car 328xi was being inspected again, July 13, 2013, when the inspection was over, I was told that the car was fine and I did not owe anything. I finished signing all paperwork that was needed for my new lease. Everything went smooth and everyone I dealt with at BMW was professional. I drove my new car home, and within a few hours I received an email from BMW of Darien, with the results of my final inspection report. There I was told that I owed an amount of $950.00, for items that I was not made aware of. I called BMW of Darien, and was told that I was responsible for it. I looked at the Final Inspection Report and there I noticed that someone had forged my signature 2 times. I am filing this complaint because I feel I should not be responsible for the amount said above. I was taken to collections for that amount because I did not want to pay it. Because I did not want my credit soiled I did pay the amount, but I am looking to get reimbursed because what BMW of Darien did was fraudulent.Desired Settlement: $960.00

Review: After having driven my manual transmission BMW X5, for almost 80,000 miles the folks at BMW Darien replaced my clutch for a total charge of over $3,210. Some 20,000 miles later I had a busted clutch. Having driven manual transmission cars for almost 45 years I am somewhat knowledgeable on the subject. I have argued with the folks at BMW Darien that either there was a problem with the part(s) they installed or indeed with the installation. It is inconcievable that a new BMW clutch system would break down after 20,000 miles. They have charged me the full amount for replacing the clutch. I believe their actions were wrong and bordered on the unethical. This organization should have replaced my clutch assembly at no charge.

Desired Settlement: An apology and full refund of the clutch replacement charges I incurred earlier this month.

Business Response /* (1000, 15, 2013/06/04) */

please accept my apologies for the late response. I was out on personal business and didnt recive the letter until I returned.

The client's 2003 BMW X5 vin#3LHXXXXX WITH XXXXXX MILES WAS TOWED IN AND WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN GEAR OR MOVE. We diagnosed the issue as a failed clutch. Upon disassembly, we found the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel worn out and blue from excess heat. There was snow that particular few days before towed in so we suspected the vehicle was stuck in the snow and it was burned up trying to get freed. A clutch is a normal maintenance wearable item. The warranty on that item would be for defects in material and workmanship. The clutch was replaced previously at 79300 miles on 7/8/2011. if there were a defect, it would have been apparent long before this point. With this evidence, we quoted the customer a price for repairs, expalined he was welcome to come and see how extensive the damage was and we as experienced trained professionals felt it was not due to normal wear and tear or a defect, but as a result of extreme temperatures possibley from being stuck in snow. I also believe the client mentioned his son had been driving at the time and is not as experienced a driver.client was quoted a price for repair and repairs were approved. nothig about our process or diagnosis gave us any reason to consider any other possibility other than extreme overheating of the clutch assy and related parts due to being stuck. we are not offering anything other than this explanation which was given to the client.

Respectfully,

Service and Parts Director

Review: I had the expansion tank on my [redacted] replaced at [redacted]. When I came to pick up the car, the front passenger door had a big scratch on it. As I noticed while still at the dealership (they check and mark each car for damage as you bring it in), they agreed to fix the damage. I dropped off the car again, and when I went to pick it up the scratch was fixed. I drove off home only to realize when I got home the same day that now I had a big dent on the front of my hood - which I didn't notice while at the dealership since I didn't walk in front of the car. I emailed back the customer service rep and tried to call, never heard anything back.Desired Settlement: Fix the damage

Review: I purchased a new [redacted], which was not on site, from this dealership on 6/13/2014. Delivery of the vehicle would be on 6/16/2014. When I arrived to pick up my car, it was revealed to be damaged, with a sizable dent in the roof of the car. The dealership agreed to fix the dent and lend me a car during the repair. They seemed sincere, so I took delivery of the car with the agreement that I would bring it back on 6/30/2014 and drop it off. I brought the car back on the 30th and received a loaner. I was assured that the car would be repaired and I would be compensated for my trouble. After several phone calls and assurances that the car was being worked on, it was finally ready on 7/14/2014. During this time, I made a car payment on a car that wasn't in my posession, and told the sales manager, [redacted], that I would like to be reimbursed a car payment for my trouble. He agreed that was fair, both on the phone and in person. I have placed many calls since then to [redacted], and each time, he feigns outrage that I haven't been sent a check and promises to make it right. Needless to say, I'm still waiting. He doesn't return calls, and I'm tired of this mess. The car payment is 336.22.Desired Settlement: I would like the car payment of 336.22 to be reimbursed to me, as agreed to by [redacted].
