claim for benefits under the AARP [redacted] Protection Benefit.  The cardholder does not purchase a policy of insurance but is instead provided this coverage as a benefit at no additional cost, resulting from the cardholder’s relationship with AARP Chase bank.  As outlined in the guide to benefits which [redacted]’s received with her AARP Chase card under “How do I file a claim?” How do I file a claim?1. Call the Benefit Administrator within twenty-one (21) days of the date of the advertisement. 2. Complete the claim form you receive from the Benefit Administrator. Be sure to provide all information requested and return the documentation within forty-five (45) days after your request for a claim form. You can always call the Benefit Administrator if you have any questions.3. Include the following documentation with your claim form: • The original itemized sales receipt• The original card receipt demonstrating that the purchase was made on your Account. If more than one method of payment was used, include documentation that shows a portion of the purchase was made with your Account.• The original Printed or non-Auction Internet site advertisement showing the item, sale date and/or date of the advertisement, lower advertised price, and advertising store name• Any other documentation deemed necessary, in the Benefit Administrator’s sole discretion, to substantiate the claim4. Send all information to the Benefit Administrator: Card Benefit Services P.O. Box [redacted] Richmond, VA [redacted].Every Chase cardholder receives a copy of the complete terms and conditions of the benefit in the Guide to Benefits provided at card issuance and periodically thereafter.   In [redacted]’s complaint, she states she submitted three claims for benefits under the [redacted] Protection benefit which were subsequently denied. These claims were denied because the notification to the program administrator was not within 21 days of the printed advertisement, as stipulated in item 1 of “How do I file a claim?”. [redacted] explained the delay in filing the claims within the 21 day requirement due to long hold times when calling. Because [redacted] did not initiate a claim on any of her initial calls, we cannot track that part of her experience with the claims process.  However, we have noted her concern and will work to resolve that issue. After reviewing these claims, along with the information supplied by [redacted], we will process the claims, discounting the 21 day reporting requirement, as all other terms and conditions were satisfied. We will be issuing payment for the price protection claims submitted. We apologize for any inconvenience encountered by [redacted], and appreciate her choosing AARP Chase. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.   If you should require any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at the number or e-mail provided above.
