Chubbiestech Reviews (33)

Review: I have ordered thousands of dollars worth of cellular phones from "[redacted]" on [redacted], and have typically had 50/50 luck with getting a good quality product. When i've had issues in the past, i've taken a loss, and continued to order through their [redacted] store, sales channel.

There was an order in particular, which consisted of a large lot of cell phones that had various problems, in which I needed to send a few back for a refund, per their return request.

I decided to package up the devices, send them back to the address specified with tracking information included, and waited for a refund, which never came. After 10 days, I contacted them to see what the problem was, to be told they had never receieved the items. The tracking number for the package showed it was delivered, but I still had no refund. After a few days of bicquering back and forth with [redacted], and being told they still hadn't received the package, I decided to take this issue up with the US Postal Service, and spent more than 4 hours on the phone calling various post offices, tracking certain mail delivery person(s) down for statements / delivery routes, and getting help from managers, to find out if this package was successfully returned.

The postal service had told me that the package was scanned in at their post office using a scanner that wasn't set to their location code, which typically doesn't affect anything on the delivery end, but rather shows it was delivered to another zip code (when looked up using the tracking number). So, this package was successfully delivered back to [redacted], but on the tracking number it had shown it was delivered to another zip code that their local post office also delivers to, rather than the zip code of their location. [redacted] decided to use this to their advantage, and claim that they hadn't received the returns ($450+ worth of items), so they didn't have to refund my return! I was told by various supervisors and delivery person(s) that this company ([redacted]) was taking advantage of the situation.

I have talked to [redacted] multiple times about this issue, and have always gotten the same response about how they never received my return, when there is a tracking number showing that it was delivered. They are very unwilling to work with me on the issue, and I have multiple messages from them on [redacted] showing the various "short" responses that I had received from them in the 6 months of attempting to get my money back. Desired Settlement: Refund for the purchase, including Priority Mail shipping, and compensation for my time invested.

Review: On -Jul **, 2014, I purchased a new Apple iPhone 4 - 8GB - White (Factory Unlocked) Smartphone from this seller (chubbiestech) who goes by another name too. it cost US $209.95 He said it was a brand new iphone. About 2 weeks now I spilled water on my phone, so I went to Apple to get it fixed because I was over the 30 days with him, and apple would fix it for a charge. I went there, and they told me that they could not touch the phone because it was not new, the screen was replaced, and the battery as well. I contact the seller and he told me I was over the return period. I understand that but what he sold me was not an actual iphone. Not new either. What he did was fraud, that water was the reason I knew he stole my money, and he is doing this to much more people too. I tried to resolve this with him but he is not willing to. Did purchased was done through [redacted]. They told me to report him, and apple to do it too. He actually updated his page where he sells the iphones too, and from what I read I am not the only one complaining because of fraudulent transactions.Desired Settlement: Help me to get a agreement with this seller who is stealing money from people every day. I want another phone or my money back.

sold e a bad phone did nothing to refund me

Review: In march I purchased an Iphone from Chubbiestech on [redacted] and the ad promised a 100% functional iphone with little cosmetic wear and tear. I could live with the wear and tear as long as it worked. I get the phone, turn it on, activate it and it doesn't work. I contact them and they tell me they will send me a new iphone. They take their sweet time and I finally get a new phone. The SAME problem with the new phone. It's like they sent the same phone back to me. I email costumer service and they tell me they can't help me, but to call. I spent weeks trying to call with no answer. Finally, I email back and they tell me they can't help me because the warranty is out on the product. Basically, they ran me around in circles til my warranty ran out so they could leave me with a broken phone but keep my money. Selling something with the wrong description IS FRAUD!Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $134.95.

Review: I purchaced a cell phone from their online store on [redacted] and they never shipped the item and refuse to return my emails. it has been nearly 2 weeks and they have provided no refund or replacment of anykind I called the post office with the tracking number they gave me and a package has never been dropped off to them with that tracking number. if they would respond then I would not have file a complaint but they have provided no cmmunicationDesired Settlement: refund my money

Review: On June *, 2013 I purchased an iPad Mini from Platinum Connections Inc from their eBay store: Chubbiestech, for $299.95. I paid immediately through PayPal transaction ID [redacted]. The listing stated that they use USPS usually and at times other carriers but you will be alerted at checkout. Upon checking out I thought it stated USPS. My primary mailing address is a Po Box as I rent an inlaw that doesn't have it's own mail box and my mail would have to go through my landlord first (I do not like that). On June **, 2013 I receive notification that the purchase had been shipped tracking number [redacted] which I immediately recognized as a UPS tracking number and I contacted the company to inquire as to why they would use UPS to ship to a Po Box knowing that UPS does not ship to Po Boxes and why they did not contact me first in regards to this? I received a short reply: "Your item was shipped earlier today to the address provided on PayPal with the following tracking information[redacted] Please note that our listing clearly states that we do not take address changes via email. Thank You, Chubbiestech We now have Tablets and Iphones in stock !!" I have tried to communicate several other times and received no replies. Upon checking the tracking number yesterday morning I saw that it's status was undeliverable due to Po Box being rerouted. I thought it was going back to the seller. I was mistaken. Upon getting home yesterday afternoon I saw the status as: delivered and singed: [redacted]. As I did not receive it nor sign for it I called UPS to inquire as to where it was delivered to and who rerouted it. I was informed it was delivered at[redacted] (which was my address before I moved and at the time of renting my Po Box). I have not resided at that address since March of 2012. I did not receive this package and I did not sign for it. I was told that UPS got the physical address from USPS Customer Service. I filed an investigation with UPS. I contacted the seller and still have heard nothing in response. This is improper or inferior service for the following reasons: According to UPS's own website, they do not deliver to Po Boxes and require the recipient's phone number to reroute a package. (http[redacted]). Seller made no efforts to contact me prior to shipping using a service KNOWN to not deliver to a Po Box. Seller made no efforts to get my phone number (they could have even gotten that off of eBay member contact information since they had a transaction with me). Seller made no contact prior to shipment to even suggest other options: e.g. ship USPS and I pay the difference in cost, refund my purchase and cancel the transaction. Seller has only responded to one email (out of 5), and that was not even helpful or offer me any solutions. It was at best very poor judgement on sellers part to ship an item using a service knowing it could not be delivered by that service to a Po Box. It was poor service not to contact me prior to shipping to try to resolve it or work another solution out, instead of just carelessly shipping in a way that I would not receive it. As of now, I do not have the purchased item. Who ever lives at [redacted] has that. And I am currently out $299.95. I consider the lack of judgement of the seller to be gross negligence and would like to be made whole.Desired Settlement: A refund of $299.95

Review: I ordered a HTC Verizon phone through [redacted], from a seller named [redacted] on August **, 2013. When I received the phone, it came to me defected, & it would not turn on even after charging it for 24 hours. After realizing this issue, I immediately contacted the seller to try and resolve it. [redacted] told me to send the defected phone back to him via USPS Priority, which I had to pay for even though the error was his fault. Two weeks later, I received another defected phone!! [redacted] sent me a Samsung AT&T phone even after we had specifically asked him to resend the same product without a defect. Again, the phone wouldn't turn on & the seller sent us different parts to two different phones. I have been without a phone for well over 3 weeks now. I purchased this phone in confidence that the seller would sell me what was promised. I have been through the loops with [redacted] from [redacted] & already made a claim through [redacted] against this seller, with hopes that no other person will be sold defected phones through [redacted]s seller [redacted] again. I appreciate any help with this matter.Respectively,[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would appreciate if I could receive a full refund for the phone, plus the shipping cost that I had to pay via USPS Priority to send the first defected phone back.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: I purchased a refurbished cell phone from said company on **March2013 through ebay (http[redacted]). First phone arrived March [redacted] & did not work due to a bad microphone. Contacted seller who said to send the phone back for another. Phone sent back and I received another phone. That phone made calls fine, however the screen would cut in & out at times, rendering it useless. Again, the seller was contacted; this time I was told: "We are sorry to hear about this issue and that you will need to return your order. We ask that you please send it back for a refund to our address below with the below RMA # clearly marked on the outside of the box so that we can expedite your return. As we do not provide return labels, we ask that you please ensure that the cost to return your order back is clearly marked on the box so that we can issue a separate credit to you for that amount via PayPal. Please note we will only reimburse you for shipping via USPS Priority and Fist Class services. Please include the accessories, your full name and eBay user ID within package.. If possible, please attach a note with the issue the phone is having either to the phone or within the black box the phone came in as it will assist our team in figuring out the issue. Your RMA # is : [redacted] I sent that phone back and have yet to receive agreed refund. Now seller has the phone & my money.Desired Settlement: $86.60 - For the initial purchase amount of $81.00, plus the refund for return shipping (as agreed) which amounted to $5.60

Response:

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Platinum Connections regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I was contacted by the business shortly after initially filing my complaint. The company apologized for the inconvenience and said they would be handling the matter through the Revdex.com and that I should expect a refund soon. That was in mid-June, so it has now been approximately 6 weeks. Haven't heard anything since.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: I bought an Ipad on [redacted] from a [redacted] Store called Chubbiestech. I returned the Ipad with a bad operating system per our mutual agreement between chubbiestech and myself. It was agreed that I would receive a refund from chubbiestech. The seller/chubbiestech told me he issued a refund on 6/**/14 when he did not. Next, the seller; chubbiestech told me I would receive the refund within 48 hours on 6/**/14 after he apologized for not issuing. I did not receive the refund and now it is July **; 17 days later after I was supposed to get the refund and he refuses to communicate and explain why he has still not issues the refund. Chubbiestech received the product per my tracking order. The refund is supposed to be $167.95.Desired Settlement: The refund of the product is supposed to be $167.95; the purchase price.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. I'm disappointed that this had to be resolved by utilizing formal complaints with; [redacted], and the Revdex.com. This involved a simple refund that was owed after I returned a deficient iPad. I hope this business will understand how important it is to have honesty and integrity in business.

Sincerely,

Review: I had a problem with the shipping time from this [redacted] user. I left negative feed back for them. I was called after the feedback was left by a man who argued with me but then decided to give me a 100 discount on my next purchase of I changed my feedback. I changed it then tried to make an order 4 weeks later. They did not return my emails and when I called I was told there was no note about the discount and that the man was unavailable. I feel cheated and annoyedDesired Settlement: Cut me a check for 100 or apply the discount to an order that would need to ship by July [redacted]

Review: On Feb **, I wanted to call someone on my phone but I kept receiving a message "out of network". I tried several times, trying to call different people, but I could only see this same message.

I called T-mobile to speak with a rep. The rep told me that the previous owner of this phone entered into an installment plan with them, and has not paid off his/her balance and they have blacklisted this IMEI #. They also told me that it is your company's responsibility to either refund me my money, or to send me a new, clean IMEI phone.

It was purchased from this company on May **,2015 order #[redacted]. The phone's IMEI # is [redacted]. Please either refund me the original amount I was billed/or send me an IMEI phone that has been thoroughly inspected.

I am disappointed as I have not received a response from this company as of Feb. ** on how they can help me resolve this issue.Desired Settlement: I want to be either refunded the $289.99 I paid for this phone, or a replacement of the same brand and model of phone that has been thoroughly tested and examined unlike the phone I was sold.

Review: THIS COMPANY SELLS STOLEN PHONES- I PURCHASED A CELLPHONE VIA [redacted]/PAYPAL ON MARCH *, 2014. WHEN I TOOK IT INTO THE SPRINT STORE FOR ACTIVATION THEY ADVISED THAT IT WAS STOLEN. WHEN I CALLED PLATINUM CONNECTIONS ON MAY **, 2014 AND SPOKE WITH [redacted], SHE ADVISED THAT BECAUSE THE PURCHASE WAS OVER 30 DAYS OLD THEY COULD NOT REFUND MONEY OR PROVIDE ANOTHER PRODUCT OF COMPARABLE VALUE. YES, THE PURCHASE WAS OVER 30 DAYS, BUT THE ISSUE WAS NOT OPERATION OF THE PHONE, AS IT POWERED UP FINE, IT WAS THAT IT WAS STOLEN. WHICH MEANS I CANNOT ACTIVATE IT AND IT CANNOT BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE INTENDED!. ITEM#[redacted] TRANSACTION #[redacted].Desired Settlement: THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE INSISTED THAT THIS WAS A WARRANTY ISSUE. WHEN PURCHASED, THE EQUIPMENT WAS RECEIVED AS SCHEDULED AND POWERED UP WHICH WOULD BE AN ISSUE THAT RELATES TO WARRANTY, THE PRODUCT NOT BEING SUITABLE FOR A LEGAL TRANSACTION BETWEEN THE MERCHANT AND CONSUMER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WARRANTY. MY DESIRED RESOLUTION IS TO BE PROVIDED WITH A CELLPHONE REPLACEMENT OF COMPARABLE AGE. CONDITION AND FEATURES THAT I CAN USE FOR ITS' INTENDED PURPOSE. AN EMERGENCY PHONE FOR MY CHILD THAT SHE CAN ALSO USE TO PLAY GAMES AND LISTEN TO MUSIC.
