I have read the complaint and I do agree with some parts of itYes we did agree to $750.00,but the work that was supposed to be done was simply, assemble the motor and transmission and drop it in the carWell, after sorting the through box of loose parts that he brought us, we realized that there
several parts missingWe tried to call him several timesSometimes he answered sometimes he didn'tHe had many broken promises to show up to the shopBy this time, we had already assembled the motor to spec, which was brought to us in piecesFinally we get a hold of him and tell him that the vehicle has several components missing and it would cost a lot more to do the job, not only because of the labor, but because of the research to find all these antique partsThe customer was thinking we should do this for freeWe then told him to pick up his carWhen he showed up he did not want to pay for the work performedAfter we showed him the work we did he agreed to pay $Everybody helped him get the vehicle on his trailer, and also the people from the tire shop next door assisted us in loading his carAlso one of the mechanics helped him tie down the car with chains because he could not bend down.We have been in the community for many years and have a very good nameThere are many instances where we do free work just to satisfy the customerBut when a customer comes in and doesn't give us all the parts and is not totally up front with us, we feel that we need to get paid for the work that we didI stand behind all the work we do, because have the best staff in Bexar County. If there's anything we can do please let us knowAlso we appreciate you giving us the opportunity to earn your business. I am rejecting this response because: Please let me set the record straight:The vehicle was brought to Chubby's Auto on February 7, with all the parts; after discussion, Chubby's Auto promised to install the engine and the transmission for a total charge of $750.00. They did not do this. Chubby's Auto went through the parts and found them there on the vehicles arrival and for all the following four weeks. I had been promised that they would start work on February 9, 2015. I had told them that it was important for them to be sure they were ready to go as I would be gone until February 27, 2015. They told a number of times that they were prepared. Chubby's Auto stated the vehicle would be done when I returned In addition I told them that if they were short any part, to proceed to get it and I would pay them back.On February 27, I went to Chubby's Auto and my vehicle was sitting outside in the rain. They promised to start work on it on March 2, 2015. On March 2, 2015, when I went back they had not started to work on the vehicleThe rest of that week despite return trips, they had not started on the vehicle. Chubby's promised to start work on the vehicle on March 9, and when I went they had not. On March 10, 2015, Chubby's said they were going to work on the vehicle, but they thought several items were missing. I told I would get the parts they requested and if they found the part later I would handle any returns. On March and 12, I delivered the parts. Chubby's Auto on March 12, 2015, demanded $before they would start any work on the vehicle. Then later on March 12, 2015, Chubby's Auto demanded $instead of $or they said they would not work on the vehicle. I was told by Chubby's Auto there were no charges against the vehicle when I left Chubby's Auto on March 12, 2015. I advised I would be back on March16, 2015, and on that day I was again told by Chubby's Auto office there were no charges against the vehicle. Chubby's Auto stated they would prefer not to work on the vehicle. I asked for the vehicle and the shop was ordered by Chubby's Auto office to release the car. Chubby's Auto started to prepare the vehicle and property for me to take While waiting I was given the phone and was told the caller was the owner of Chubby's Auto. He was violent, abusive, obscene and shrill. He had not been involved in this entire matter before this call, but he immediately made an arbitrary decision to charge $350.00. He said he would not release the vehicle or my personal property unless paid I paid but marked the credit card documents as being paid under protestI feared for my vehicle's safety and my personal safety. Chubby's kept some of my personal property and refused to handle this entire matter in a business like or fair mannerI am a farmer and have many vehicles and have dealt with many mechanics and have never had a problemwith an honest auto or repair shop

You are absolutely correct the motor and transmission were not installed because you refused to bring the correct partsWe did assemble the motor and this is what you were charged forYou agreedAs far as your personal property, you loaded everything yourself with our assistanceIm trying to figure out what other services you wantAfter paying our technician for his services the company profited negativeI don't have a problem with that especially if there is a disgruntled customerBut in this case it seems you want this work done for freeIm not interested
