I am in receipt of this customer's complaint concerning the repairs performed on her [redacted] **We take great pains to "fix it right the first time", and while I'm sorry the customer feels her vehicle was not repaired properly, I can assure you that we performed proper repairs per the work designated on the repair orderWe do not feel that there is any misdiagnosis involved on our part, nor do we feel that the work we preformed was incorrectI would also like to point out that the vehicle is years old and has in excess of 75,miles on it On September 10, we serviced this customer's vehicle [repair invoice # [redacted] ]Our technician performed an oil and filter change, and as is our standard practice, performed a visual multipoint inspection of the vehicleDuring the inspection the technician noticed that the front sway bar links were bad (a possible safety concern] and there was excessive play in the intermediate steering shaftIt has been our experience that sway bar links and intermediate steering shaft repairs are somewhat common on this type and age of vehicleOur service advisor reviewed the work that was done with the customer and Quoted the cost to repair these two itemsThis is noted on repair invoice # [redacted] The customer declined the work to be done at that time On December 11, the customer requested replacement of both front stabilizer links and also replacement of the intermediate steering shaftThis is noted on repair order # [redacted] We performed the repairs per the customer's request On December 19, the customer approached our service Department and stated the steering feels tight at times and also that the steering makes a jingle noise at times while drivingThis is noted on repair invoice # [redacted] Our technician test drove the vehicle and performed diagnosis per GM specificationsThe diagnostic computer scan revealed code Pa torque input issue, and code Pa steering position issueThe recommended repair for these issues is to replace the steering columnThis is noted on repair invoice # [redacted] , along with a quote of $to perform the repairsWe performed the di agnostics at no charge to the customer as noted on the repair order We find sometimes with car repairs there are more issues then appears on the surface, and once one area is improved the weaknesses of an adjoining area may surfaceThis is especially true as vehicles age and the wear and tear of road miles takes its tollPlease also note that the customer requested the sway bar links and the steering intermediate shaft be replaced over months after we made her aware of these issues We do not feel that we are responsible for any type of refund or reimbursementWe will replace the steering column if the customer desires, at a cost of$plus taxThis cost includes parts and labor An appointment for the repairs would be necessary for scheduling in our shop, and we would have to order the steering column as it is not a stocking item In closing, I would like to reiterate that all repairs and work were properly disclosed to the customer, performed properly, and warranted for months or 12,milesWe stand prepared to perform the steering column replacement for the customer at the cost quoted should she decide to have the repairs performed in our shop
