ALAS! They shipped me the wrong product. Upon contacting them and asking them what had happened the man on the phone said that because they didn’t have the correct product in stock he shipped me the "most similar one".
He didn't really seem to care that it wasn't what I had ordered or what I had paid for. Neither did he seem bothered that though they had my phone number on file they hadn't contacted me before shipping a different product!
To supposedly "remedy their error" he offered to refund only the purchase price if I paid to return the wrong Bible back to them at my own cost. He assured me that they will NOT refund to me either the original shipping cost or the return shipping cost!
Have good business practices gone south?
Very disappointed!
I aim for them to never get another dollar from me unless they make this right. No less than a full refund of all purchase cost and shipping cost (and return shipping if they want their wrong product returned too).

Church Bible Publishers is operated by former employees of Local Church Bible Publishers, and have obtained my email address through my business with Local Church Publishers. They are actively targeting customers like myself by sending emails with similar logo and name, so that many people are buying their products expecting that they are doing business with the much trusted and high quality LCP.

Other (requires explanation) It should be a requirement that this type of business present a disclaimer calling attention to the fact that they are not Local Church Publishers of Lansing Michigan.

What is *** in the complaint?
*** is not a registered business in the state of MI to my knowledge. It is not even a DBA. The last I knew it was a name on a church check book. It has a E commerce website that is operating under the 501c3 exempt status of a church. It does not collect or pay sales tax, even though state law requires. So how can there be an accusation of a former employee? How is one employed by a non existent company? I think a more accurate resolution should be if you are going to do business within this state, be registered and pay taxes like the rest of us. If not then promote that you are *** Church, not ***!
The truth:
*** has never made their own products, in the fall of 2016 they took their business somewhere else and failed to tell their customers.
CBP was started and uses the same bindery that *** used to use. CBP is manufactured and distributed out of a renovated church building and is registered with the state of MI, the IRS, etc.
Our email list has been compiled of many sources in the last four years. Each email has an unsubscribe button, and very explicitly states CBP ***, MI
This customer ordered our product and called in very upset. The last we knew, he was returning in new condition for a full refund. We have not received the product back nor issued a refund. At this point in time we are not responsible for used product refunds, however, a new unused and original packaging return will still be honored.
I, Rob D have never been a member, employee, of the above mentioned supposed business (***). I have however ran another MI company that makes and made product for both "businesses??" above mentioned.
If only our AG would clamp down on illegal businesses.... Think of the revenue for the State.
