There were way too many mistakes made by the complaint, his trained mechanic, myself, & my expert technician to go into full detailWhen a customer comes in the shop at 11:55AM on Satoblivious to the fact we close at noonDemands to know
why his combine overchargesPresents to us a new alternator purchased from an unknown source he had to wait days to getInforms us he has had the batteries checked & replaced only of the purchased from an unknown sourceHis new alternator did not solve his problemI have pretty much sized up the situation at that timeObviously his mechanic has not been able to figure out his over-charging issueMy technician, who has over years' experience & has already clocked out for the day, tested the alternator & did it did not workI have no reason to doubt himComplaint's mechanic demands to know what is wrong with alternatorI responded "I do not know" implying I am not going to spend the hour at this time of day to diagnosis his alternator to determine the problemI offered to sell the complaint a new alternatorHe discussed this with his mechanic & agreed they did not know what else to doI gave the mechanic several suggestions as to what their problem was & he replied that he had already checked all of those itemsOn Monday 10-31-I called the complaint to see if they had solved their problemI left a message & got no responsePer his complaint they found a bad "electrical fitting" which solved their problemAfter trying alternators; the original unit, new unit from an unknown source, & unit from our shop the mechanic did more research & found the problemI have no problem refunding the complaint's *** for invoice # XXXXX based on conditions; 1) He returns the alternator he purchased from us2) The alternator test runs ok3) The alternator is clean & not filled with combine dustIf it is non resalable without teardown & clean up there will be a *** re-stocking feeWe made every effort to solve the complaint's problem that we could at the timeTechnicians & mechanics all make mistakesThis is a classic example of a farmer trying to resolve his problems the most economical way possibleSometimes it works & sometimes it doesn'tWhy the complaint did not call Monday & explain what happened I will never knowI would have gladly offered him the return conditions mentioned above
