We were sorry, although not surprised, to hear of this customer complaintWe work very hard at all times to assureour customers are more than happy during their stay with usThis customer arrived a little after l0am (check in is after 2pm)during the busiest week we have all seasonShe asked about the site she had reserved and was told another camper was stillon the siteShe immediately became irate and verbally abusive toward the person who greeted her at the entrance to thecampgroundThis person contacted Jim, the owner, and explained that the customer was at the gate and very upset about thesite not being vacant.Jim drove to the gate to discuss the situation and the customer again became very angry, loud and Insistent that wewere somehow in the wrongShe began to threaten to call the Revdex.com AND Good Sam's as she felt we weretreating her badly.Jim removed himself from the situation, checked in with the front desk about the booking situation and then returnedto speak with the coupleThe customer had moved to their car and the husband spoke with Jim regarding the situationHe wasvery apologetic about his wife's behaviorJim explained that we had decided we did NOT have a site available for them as hewas very worried about the wife's behavior- certainly not the type of thing we need in the middle of a HUGE event with a FULLcampgroundThe husband stated he understood and went to speak with his wife.Jim returned to the front office where he was sitting with myself, Ruth, when in about minutes the customer camebarging into the officeShe immediately demanded a refund from me- I just looked at Jim because I had no idea what this angrywoman was doing in my officeJim stated, "This is the person we don't have a site for tonight." I responded to the customerthat I was sorry, I had no checks with me and that I would mail a refund to her ASAPShe turned toward Jim before leaving andstated LOUDLY-"WILL be calling The Revdex.com and Good Sam's!" and then turned and left.The refund check was sent to her within 3-daysWe are happy to say the rest of our experiences at the campgroundhave been pleasant alwaysWe understand that stress and long trips can make some people anxious but do not feel thatanyone needed to be as belligerent as this customer within minutes of arrival.Please let us know if there is anything else which might be of help in clearing up this matter.Sincerely,Ruth ***Jim [redacted] Ciderhouse campground [redacted]
