During a 12 Day Irish Odyssey tour in September of this year, I contracted COVID - probably on the bus since another passenger also tested positive several days into the tour. I and the other COVID person were left to our own devices in a hotel in Derry, Northern Ireland. There was no contingency plan for us provided by CIE other than being told at the start of the tour to refrain from reporting illness to the driver/guide. I made arrangements for the other tourist and me for certified COVID tests in Derry (needed for travel insurance); booked a room for myself in the hotel where we were left; arranged with the hotel concierge to find a driver for us from Derry to Dublin, and booked two nights in a Dublin hotel before I flew home. We were left on day 8 of the 12 day tour. Finally, a day and a half after we were put off the tour, a CIE representative called me but only after a friend of mine in Dublin called CIE to complain about my being left to my own devices in Derry. The other COVID tourist was never contacted. Lesson - be prepared to make your own plans if you are unfortunate enough to contract COVID on a CIE tour. We know that COVID is surging again in Europe and the U.S. It is "goodbye and good luck."

OMG, my wife and I just got back from a 12-day tour of Ireland, On the Irish Odessey Tour!
You couldn't ask for a more perfect planed out travel trip of this beautiful country! We met so many wonderful Irish people, the food was to die for, and plenty to eat. Hotels we stayed on our trip were awesome. So much to do on this tour! Our Tour director/Drive Sean Gray was the best guy you could ever meet! So knowledgeable of his country, very funny and likeable man. Thank you, Sean, for making this tour such a fun time! CIE Tours is the best! Price was perfect for what this tour included.
