We hired an attorney who sent a demand letterThey did respond with a check for the full depositIt cost us $for the attorney but we are glad to have resolution

The tenant's term did expire 11/30/and the lease stated that there was days to delivery the funds back to tenantHowever, the Tenant had a balance due for a portion of their June rent, which they stated was paid to the previous management company*** immediately started the process to
resolve the Tenant balanceUnfortunately, that dispute settlement is still not resolved and has now elevated past ***, the previous management team, to the previous property owner in an effort for *** to collect the money owedThis has been an extensive process in order to collect the money and account for the payment made to the previous partyIt is also a process that *** has worked diligently onIt should be noted that a property management company cannot disburse funds without the property owner's approvalThat said, the property owner granted approval for partial refund of the security deposit on February 22, The partial refund will include all monies that were transferred at the time of sale to the new property owner and will exclude those that are in dispute with the previous property ownerThe refund is currently being processed and the check will be cut on March 1, Once the disputed rents between ***, the previous property owner and the current property owner are resolved and funds have been collected, *** will be able to disburse the remaining amount to the Tenant

I am rejecting this response because: The June rent disputed is a matter between the previous owner & the current owner.  We have provided proof of payment multiple times to [redacted] as they requested.  They confirmed they had received the proof of payment.  Our June rent was paid to the previous owner & cleared the bank on 6/9/17 for $3810.57.  The sale between owners occurred 6/8/17 & the new owner was owed prorated rent for June $2921.43.  There was no notice to us that the sale was made so we paid our full rent to the previous owner.  This is a dispute between the owners & should not impact our security deposit refund.  [redacted] provided us their accounting records showing that the security deposit of $3367.98 was transferred to them on 6/8/17.Thanks again for your support.  As a small business owner, this is important to us.
