Cigna Health Care Reviews (2)

We have been licensed to work in California since 1973, Our general contractor was building houses for the four years previous to that learning his tradesIn those years we have had ONE complaint which was resolved with no faultONE complaint when dealing with literally thousands of customers
in a business that deals with people’s most precious possession, intimately and inside and outside their family's residence, We are so unused to having any complaints this tirade caught us completely unawaresWe were surprised, saddened, and sickened by the aggressive and hateful tone and attitude of the same client who praised our work previously. In all honesty, we were approached and warned previous to our engagement by this client by several contractors as to the angry and illegitimate practices with which they were treated by the FuentesIt would seem if one is to view the many and varied complaints on social media that Ms Fuentes has posted that she is not satisfied by anyone's efforts to please her.We are very proud of our immaculate record and have worked hard to maintain itThe record itself proves that point. That being said, sometimes patience and tolerance shown are exceeded by the vitriole faced. The work proposed in this instance was completed in a timely and sound manner, converting an old leaking flat roof with stuccoed parapets into a more modern and classical gable roof homogenous to the remainder of the house planThe new waterproofing functions perfectly as it should including its California twith the original gabled wing of the house. Therefore, we performed the exact scope of work we proposed: prepare plans and procure permits, structurally modify the roof design of half the house to resemble the other half, and waterproof the entire membrane, newly built and original. After accepting our proposal, we initiated the off-site work at the urging from Ms Fuentes 3/30/15before we were told by loan agent Karen Herschel referred by the Fuentes that we were expected to create a loan to fund the projectUnfortunately, we do not participate in the loan creation for our projects as the Fuentes were awareThis did cause a delay but the Fuentes overcame the problem and we proceededThe was initiated and dated April 3, and the roof framing approved by the City of Camarillo 4/14/at which time the roofing portlon of the project (stripping the multiple roofs on the original gable) beganThe Preliminary Notice for “new roof structure and membrane" is dated 4/21/15Our signed standard California Contractor Agreement contract is dated April 9, and we hadcompletely built the roof to have the building official inspect and approve on April 14, and the work complete in the second week of May, and certainly compliant with the “weeks time" projected on the first page of the contractThe contract signed by the clients and the contractor refers to the Preliminary Estimate document dated 3/20/as "...Exhibit A Estimate #10588...” in which the options we diligently prepared are described and offered for client reviewThe two selected are building a new pitched roof on the wing of the house with an ill functioning flat roof o the re-roofing of the gabled wing, All other work had to be excluded in an effort to remain within the client's budget. The Verblage is specific in that document:4/5/At on-site meeting with clients it was determined that the entire budget for the roofs is 25,We have altered the chimney and fireplace demolition so that it will not impede our progress on the roofing and client is to perform the mande of fireplace eliminationThe interior patching too, exceeds the present budget and will need to be performed on a separate contract or when funds are available as will any and all work beyond the structural roof construction and roofing.Even then, the budget is nearly 22% (-$6,862.00) less than our anticipated costsWe are to discount the estimate an additional -$1,and accept payments on remaining on the $5,or eliminate the scope of work to raise the collar ties and gas line on the of the garagePlease consider these two options and let us know which is more attractive and how much monthly payments would be acceptable if that is the route you choose.”With such specific language we expected the scope of work to be clear, and at the time of completion it wasBut soon after the client requested a bid to build their kitchen and paint the exterior of the house. The exposed original stacking of the garage roof conventional trusses was to be reworked In one of the options declined but we were demanded to return and address some age expected pre-existing cracking which would have been corrected in that optionWe performed those corrections with no compensation in good faith. All our proposed work and more was performed by our staff of tradesman, most of whom have been employed solely by Kenstruction for over years.Forewarnings were accepted when offered but then ignored regarding the old awning which was in poor condition but protected as well as possible during our work.New stucco has color coat and does not need paint and our o to paint was declined.Additional insulation was offered but declined inasmuch as the client felt they could roll out batts on the original flat roof more cheaply than we could. We diligently document our procedures and archive our documentationThe Proposal and Contract are available for any interested party to confirm our good intentions, quality work, and transparency of practicesBetter yet the finished product speaks for itself. We apologize for the time spent by concerned parties investigating a proper and legal project in the sole interest of disgruntled Individuals more concerned with attempting to connive undeserved funds for themselves than with hurting the honest and vulnerable whose only weapon is the truth

Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because:There are no written or signed denials of the businesses stated rejections of additional repairsFor example the insulation, the painting, the raftersAll are statements from the accused as well as the unsubstantiated comments pertaining to our refusal of a complete finished product.I am also quite disappointed in the slanderous comments pertaining to my and my husbands relationship with contractors other than KenstructionThese are unsubstantiated slanderous comments My husband is a Marine that is 100% VA disabled and I am a Navy Chief Petty Officer with years of sustained superior Military performance. We hired this contractor on good faith and made the mistake.of paying Kenstruction in full on April 24, 2015, the total of 25,He was upset when we refused to pay an additional 6,for him to paint and fix his work. He never completed the jobNor did he do a final punch list on the items that were not finalized. He has not had complaints listed? Probably because he has bullied his clientsI would still like a resolution and am planning on pursuing further actionsHis company should not be allowed to take further advantage of the Military in this community.
