I lived at [redacted] for almost a year. I could not stand how noisy my unit was, so I decided to purchase a home and I closed in November. I had previously spoken to the manager about my intention to move, since June 2014. When I notified the manager on the phone, she mentioned that I did not need to submit any papers, since she already had me on file for moving, but that it would help to drop them when I had a chance.
Unfortunately I bought into her story and I waited until December, to make sure the apartment was totally clean and ready and I stopped by to drop the keys. I tried calling several times and stopping at their offices with no response.
Finally I sent several emails to the manager and was able to schedule dropping the keys at 8am on December 12th.
At that time, the manager stated that all we had previously was a verbal conversation, and since I had just signed the move out notice, it would be a full 60 days notice, making me responsible for the apartment until Feb 2015. My lease was due in January 2015, so that made me responsible for one extra month of rent.
I have had this apartment vacant since November 12h and have been paying rent on time ever since, and I never saw the smallest bit of cooperation about my situation, in fact, they found ways to get even more money out of me than my lease stated. I definitely have had the worst experience with this company and I would not recommend it to anyone, the apartments are awful and the management could definitely be improved, they are all about the money.
