In response to the above complaint, let me first state that we have been in business since 1986; over 30 plus years, and are a corporation in good standing with the State of Indiana and the State of Illinois. our response to the Revdex.com complaint also filed. We have had very minimal complaints through the years and have only had two prior complaints with your office and the Revdex.com which were resolved in our favor.I enclose our contact and drawing with [redacted] with items circled. I advised her, as you can see on the contract, that if it were mine, that she should replace the stoop. My drawing also shows all the cracks that were there prior to our work. The job was completed on October 2, 2015. We sent an invoice and subsequent statements after that date (enclosed) and called and emailed and left messages. We heard nothing from them and added on interest as we are allowed to do by law. The first complaint we received was in the attached email on March 9, 2016 when we again emailed her regarding payment. This complaint was received 5 plus months after the job was completed. After her response, we then advised we would be out as soon as possible to look at the job. I came out shortly thereafter to look at our work. When I came out, there were vehicles present and I rang the doorbell. There was no answer. I knocked on the door and could see lights on inside. I then went to my truck to get my phone to call them and no one answered and I inadvertently left the paperwork in the truck. I went back to the door and someone finally opened the door (I think it was [redacted]) and I told her who I was and that I would like to talk to her about her stoop, but that I needed to goback to my truck to get the paperwork. Right at that moment, she stated "Go f yourself; we willsee you in Court" and slammed the door in my face. That is all the conversation we had. I was going to advise them that the stoop was built incorrectly which is why they are having problems with it. The 20' tall columns should have had individual footings instead of standing on top of the stoop. We normally charge about $200.00 per hour and this job should have taken 4 hours and my two workers were at this jobsite for 5 V2 hours. That instantly tells me that they were having problems and that is due to the fact that the stoop was not built correctly.We did everything we could with her stoop as per our contract. The contract also states "Advanced Concrete Raising, Inc. is not responsible for damage to plumbing or electrical, cracks in floors or walls or any damage which has occurred or might occur as a result of the settling or mudjacking process." This paragraph covers the fact that we are not responsible for cracks; if we did in fact make any additional, as we have no control over additional cracking.I am forwarding a copy of this letter and attachments to [redacted] of the Revdex.com so that this may be placed in our file as a response and apologize to her for the delay.Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or comments.
