Review: On 6/24/13 I purchased 2 pairs of shoes for my daughters to attend an occasion the same day of purchase 6/24.Not long after wearing the shoes to the occasion a strap snapped and the pull on the zipper broke off.On 6/25 I called the merchant and explained to her what happened and she refused to exchange or refund me for the pair of shoes. While speaking to the merchant she put down the phone on me until I had no choice but to hang up. I immediatly called back when I noticed what she did and there was a busy tone. I called later on during the day and the merchant never picked up the phone.This is not acceptable and this merchant after reading reviews about her business should NOT be allowed to operate in the state of CT. This is wrong because she knows her products are not up to standard and are ripping off innocent consumers.I am stuck with a pair of shoes that my daughter would not be able to wear when I spend my hard earned money at her store.

Desired Settlement: This merchant needs to either 1) Refund me my money for both pairs of dry rot shoes / or I can settle for a refund of the broken pair (fair enough)2)Or I would have no choice but to have it exchanged for another pair of her faulty product.

Cinderella Boutique has a long standing policy with regard to returns which is posted on a sign near the cash register and referred to each time a purchase is made. Casual shoes may be returned within 7 days of purchase if they have not been worn and are undamaged. Dress shoes may be returned on the day of purchase only if they have not been worn and are undamaged. The reason for this policy is born of experience. Some customers in the past have purchased a pair of dress shoes, worn them to a particular event, and then want to return them the next day for a refund. Some of those customers, aware of the refund policy, have tried to make a case for a refund by breaking a strap or zipper. We are not asserting that this is the case with Ms. [redacted]. Having been in business since 1986 we have a very good relationship and much good will with a vast number of happy and satisfied customers who come back again and again from all areas of Connecticut and even from out of state. However, we have also had some bad experiences with certain customers and our return policy is a necessary reflection of that reality.
